That was a badass install! Definitely an enjoyable watch. Something like this is not easy!! You guys handled it though. It is what it is with something like this theres only so much you and the film can do but this was a 10/10 in my book considering the difficulty! Keep up the good work!

Ottimo lavoro, considerando l'estrema difficoltà del cofano, molto spigoloso e concavo in molti punti. Il prodotto che spruzzi, cos'è? Acqua e sapone o un gel diluito? Complimenti ancora 💪

Nice job. I've been out of the industry since 06 and had to freehand hoods and bumpers like this a lot at SEMA shows for promotion and it wasn't easy. The film has come along way since then.
@PaintProtectionFilmAcademy2 жыл бұрын
It really has. I started back in 2004. The 3M film then was like cardboard compared to the films available now a days. If you’re at SEMA this year I’ll be installing film on Tuesday at the Legend Film booth. Say hi.

how do you avoid so many lines in the film from parts of the film sitting so long against the tacced spots. If i leave the film sitting for more than 30 seconds i get lines galore

Hello, can you tell me where I could buy some large film for the car door and hood? Right now, I can only find some 12 inches wide film on amazon but I need bigger one like 40 by 40 for car door. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Btw, I'm in Canada. Thanks a lot!
@JetFire9 Жыл бұрын
Very hard to find because the manufacturers ban vendors from selling to the public. You can buy some off brands, but you’ll be lucky to find any name brands in big rolls that don’t cost more than the price if you paid to have it installed. It’s a scummy practice to screw DIY’ers.
@froyhernandez57972 жыл бұрын
Awesome job despite the imperfections. Luckily it blends in with the carbon fiber. I would definitely not be picky about it. Curious to know how would you go about the process on a painted hood? Same way?

All films have a learning curve. Some stretch really well but to tack well and vice versa. I always recommend trying out different one to see what you feel comfortable with.

I work at a Porsche dealership and my main problem is dealing with chicken skin and adhesive lines in the glue . Do you have any videos on those things ?
@PaintProtectionFilmAcademy2 жыл бұрын
I don’t yet. I don’t remember what video it is but I talk about lift lines. What brand film are you using?
@user-ng2uq8sj7r2 жыл бұрын
I see dealership jobs quite often as someone who reedoo dealership jobs that customer don’t like , I’m glad you are wanting to learn . Lift lines will appear if you lift the ppf when it’s already too much tacked up , and or you haven’t got the liquid deep enough after lifting , your tack solution wich is alcohol based is thinner so it will reach furthest then the soap solution , try using the tack to reach to the line you stopped when lifting , while pleeeease avoid putting your fingers under the ppf … Chicken skin in when you move the ppf around your a pressing to much with your finger and not enough with your palm , your finger will create a tacking point and if you squeegee over it it will appear like chicken skin spot , always position and stretch your ppf , like , glass it , lay it perfectly and then spray soap solution again with high pressure to lift any tacking point , your piece need to be glass and spot less before any squeegee , this is a terrible video to watch honestly … lot of problems …
