Perfect 👌. I have a tip... I noticed that the bumper looked a little bit darker. White cars always get that dingy tint that doesn't wash off. (Detailers know the issue) what's going on is the micro-scratches in the paint are compacted with dirt. Clay bar will just glide over it all. It only ever shows on white (maybe yellow). That's why the new paint always looks brighter. I've found that if you scrub it down with thinner or reducer on white shop towels (dyed towels can stain paint), it will brighten it back up and even hide more visible scratches. This will probably haze it up and you'll need to polish it after. Do this on the blend panels and the adjacent panels before you start prep. (Like the bumper in this video). It couldn't hurt to do the whole car. You don't want to be doing this after you finish and trying not to hit the fresh paint.Word to the wise... Don't get thinner on rubber seals or plastic and don't let it sit wet anywhere. Reducer (more expensive) will do the same thing but isn't as hot so you might have less polishing to do. Also, don't do this to single stage paint or lacquer or something... Be smart
@PaintSociety4 жыл бұрын
Yes great tip! It was more yellow then the rest of the car. I think my color was actually lighter in theory but what you described was a great tip that I plan on using. Thanks for watching !

The reason you don't see the blend on the hood is because the top of your fan pattern does not put out the same overstay that you get on the side panels. To blend the side. Finish up the blended sides in an arcing( semi circle) spray pattern rather then finishing side to side. Do your drop coat in an arcing motion because the top of the fan leaves no mottled rainbow effect. Hope this helps.

Hello. I am new to automotive painting and I am starting to get some jobs that need blending, a few days ago I got a job that what a Toyota Dina that needed some rust removed and all the rust was concentrated at the top of the truck, between the seem of the columns and the roof of the car, what I did was I masked the colum to half the distance of its length and masked the roof in half. The areas I masked got a line, even tough I sprayed only a mist coat on that section. My question is on jobs I have a small area of a panel to paint should I just paint the whole panel or is there any technique to paint small areas on a panel? I heard that rolling the masking tape on itself will help but I have the feeling that it will show anyways. Thank you for your time

Spray the whole panel. What might seem like more work upfront actually is the easiest way and best repair. Paint from edge to edge

A pillar color match was good. Insurance didn’t pay for blend. Burn through went to the base. Once it goes through the clear it needs base again.
