You shouldn't handle errors, at least in functions. But you should handle unexpected user input. Errors that are caused by environment or undefined behaviour should just drop to a global error handler where the needful is done (show error 500 to user, etc)

This is uncomfortably accurate. Like, I've worked with guys that literally behave like that: they don't write shit (or don't even know what they're writing when they do), have convinced themselves that they are precisely NOT to blame for their own errors (but accuse me of breaking everything I touch), randomly "correct" my code (and break it that way), after which I had to do overtime to fix it all. And yes, they also had their own "style for better readibility": instead of using a for loop, they copy-pasted the loop body as many times as they needed it. You can't make this shit up.

great acting and nice humor! few important lessons we can take from this video and implement them in real life. 1) You need to have a lot of patience working with teammates 2) Communicating with your colleagues on deadlines effectively and setting clear expectations. 3) Not complaining to your manager about your peer's work but focusing on the task to be done first. 4) Always ready to offer help even if its not your task or you not being at fault 5) Putting company's interest first.

curly braces on a newline? looks like we got a C programmer here writing javascript eat his kneecaps
@timothybauguess8531
@timothybauguess8531 4 жыл бұрын
Curly braces on a newline is typically found in "Allman" style... Many JavaScript style guidelines are based off of Java's official style guidelines, which specify K&R (curly braces on same line)... The "R" in K&R is from Dennis Ritchie, the creator of C. So curly braces on a newline are not found in C. If they were a C programmer they would've been using K&R.
