As a digital marketer, I can say this ad is really good, in fact one of the best KZbin ads I've seen. It definitely won't fool experienced programmers, but then it obviously isn't targeting them. All the stuff you call "sketchy" is sales/marketing 101, it's a necessary evil that applies everywhere in life, let alone ads. He has a free 8 hours course on JavaScript on KZbin already. The first couple of hours have taught me some of the basics that I need to know logic wise. Granted, it's not as comprehensive as it should be if it is your first language, but coming from Java, it's all I need. His focus on projects is especially nice since its blends together some html, css, and javascript commands. I don't see the point of spending $300 on the course you're mentioning so I agree on that. However, he is enthusiastic and his content is great overall.

@@theblindprogrammer no c/c++ gives you the freedom to write oop or not. Javascript/Typescript is the same way it gives you the syntactic sugar of oop if it pleases you. OOP being shoved down your throat does not make your program more careful in fact it does the opposite. Not everything can cleanly be represented as an object nor does it need to be. Having a language give you the freedom to write functional programs or object oriented programs is the best way.

I’ve taken his free course. He’s good at explaining everything. I’m pretty new to programming and try to stick with the free stuff out there. I guess if I had 300 bucks to throw around I might consider it based on his free course. From a business perspective, if you have a set of skills and you can make money off those skills in a roundabout way, you’re drawing income from another direction. Cheesy videos or not, I gotta admit it’s pretty...clever.

lol the eye rolls Nick does. Let me get clear up a few things - - No one would land a job at FAANG because they know a certain technology. They look for engineers with problem solving abilities, adjunct thinking and soft-skills. - None of these courses will teach you how to solve a problem. It comes from months of practice. - Most of the people are lured to tech jobs because of the pay (including me). There's nothing wrong in that but a job at FAANG is NOT EVERYTHING. Unicorn startups pay more. So stop buying courses of these wannabe creators and learn on your own.

The best way to learn to code is actually wanting to build something and just building it without knowing anything. Doing everything by research and copy. My first projects I did by just copy, pasting and adjusting code snippets until I got the result I wanted. This way I learned the basic concepts of programming languages.
@UtaShirokage
@UtaShirokage 4 жыл бұрын
I do not recommend learning programming or languages from course, but I highly recommend learning frameworks and libraries from the course since usually, you will want to off yourself by the point you finish reading the documentation. But again, only take a course if the free/public ones are bad. Like I recently picked up web dev again (it's been years since I did web dev), and I needed a refresher on the latest React/Redux stuff etc., so I picked up a course on udemy and it saved me soooo much time. Anyways, have fun learning yall :p

qazi does have some free courses and cheap courses on udemy/etc. have not taken his js course but his full stack dev course is really pretty good. nice thing about his stuff is he presents/explains things well and his curricula methodical to take you from one level to another with exposure to different tools (flask/django) along the way and a ton of self marketing tips. he has charisma and yes, feels like hard sale and pretty much spams you to hell and back with email about his courses. Comes off a bit as a Tony Robbins of dev. Worth the money I paid him. NO, NOT expecting the results he claims....but have benefited from his FS course and his more basic python course. unless you take his course(even the free ones) you will not appreciate him for his delivery. all you are seeing is his hyper enthused sales approach.
