See why I like that 10-10 time lol. Usually I can get 10 before 0000 and 25 after. Great gray line es 20 is full of west coast, PR maybe France. You got some tough calls too. Awesome job Thomas ! 👍🏼

Hello Thomas, I know all to well on the UTC date change. Last time out camping at K-4700 my plan was to just hold out for 00:00 UTC. With my luck storms came rolling in about half hour later. I did get 13 in the log before shutting down because of lightning. Hopefully one of these days I will get to work you. 73 de KE1AK

Regarding the TX-500 display glare. Agree: it is a problem. Wondering whether some type of screen protector with a non-glare finish or polarization would improve display visibility.

Thomas, have you noticed that AGC doesn't performs well? You have to turn volume control offten when listening your correspondent. For example look at about 15th minute of this video. I just bought TX500 and noticed that AGC works when all levels are high enough when PreAmp is on. Regards, Vlad RA9QAT.

So I ride the volume control more or less to manage the audio in the video. I can't remember now, but I usually have the pre-amp on 30M and above. Cheers, Thomas K4SWL

How are you liking the TX-500 for SSB?

Love it! I need to tweak the compression (it's turned off at present), but I absolutely love it and have gotten great audio reports.

How does your Garmin send messages? Does it have a cellphone simcard inside?

No--the Garmin uses the Iridium sat network which is global. One of the reasons I could justify the price is I know I'll need it later this year and/or next when I'm doing some rather remote driving.
