I am using your plastic brewer with the Paragon making iced pour over using your recipe of first 30 gram pour then 100 gram into 70 gram of ice. Since I’m making iced coffee, I do not remove the ball. I do not add more ice but I feel it is a good drinking temperature from start to finish for me with just a bit of ice left by the time I finished my coffee. (I lived in a hot climate country so I normally make iced coffee.) I find that adding the paragon in this way make enough of a difference for me to add it to my work flow. I got more lingering after taste out of the same coffee. I also find it works well with april coffee. I tried with other slightly darker roasted coffee and it seems to bring out an off flavor. I don’t know how to explain but it taste like green vegetable.

Thanks for this video! I have the paragon as well and haven’t had the best results with my April brewer. I’ll be curious to try this new recipe and see if that helps. It’s interesting that you mentioned it maybe not being as effective with lighter roasts as that’s all I drink.

Great Video summary on the Paragon Patrik, I came to similar conclusions when using the Paragon and lighter roasted coffee. ONA coffee I feel is more on the Medium to darker side so it makes sense similar roast profiles would do better on the Paragon vice nordic style coffee. I did have better results with Natural or CM processed, but nothing ground breaking. Nucleus has said that not every coffee type or process will benefit from the extract chilling, so I think its a lot of trial and error to see what works well.

It's good but I have had more luck using the paragon with light, but more developed roasts. Sort of like what you'd expect in a speciality light espresso roast. Their Carbonic Maceration process coffees work well with the nucleus

Hey Patrick , I hope this doesn't come off as snobby or douchy, but I notice you mispronounce the word "initially" as "initianally". It's almost like you are combining the word additionally and initially together. Just thought I'd mention it because it's something I always notice in your videos. As a side note, your brewer is the only flat bed brewer that works with this system in my experience which is quite nice. I have a number of pour over brewers and this was the only one I could get to work with it. The stone isn't big enough to capture all the drainage on other flat bed brewers. It would be nice to seem them release a larger stone in the future so it would be compatible with more brewers.

He says Initially fine once and then fumbled the second time due to multitasking during a brew. We should rebrew your comment, but use a paragon to cool down the ocd in the first paragraph

Calm down bud. I was just trying to be helpful. everyone on the planet has pronounced words incorrectly only to find out they were doing it wrong and are grateful they are now saying it correctly. It's not a big deal. Just letting him know cause he says it a lot in all the videos. @@coma-body-stilllife
