I had a set of 15" Paiste 3000 Heavy Hi Hats, sold them and always regretted it.

I recently learned Phil Collins used 15" 2002 Sound Edge hats back when he was rocking Paiste's. He primarily used 2002's and Classic 602's throughout his kit

Yes he was a Paiste guy for a long while back in the day. Thanks for commenting!

I'm a Paiste guy, but the best 15's I've ever owned were Zildjian sweet hats that I foolishly sold. Now I use a 16 602 thin crash over a 505 crash, which sounds great - really great - but I still miss those sweet hats.

The 15 Sweets are beautiful cymbals! Thanks for watching!

Love 15s. I've sold off every other size over the years. Fell in love with the hat size.

@@honourisdrumming 14" sound classic though. When a 13" is too thin and a 15" too thick

I use the Big Beat 15. People rag on the thinness. I consider it a 2002 that’s a little more polite, that’s all. Cheers mate!

Love 15 hats. Just scored a pair of Paiste 505 15 mediums. Really want to try an early pair of 2002 15 SE.

505’s are very underrated-real sleepers and sound so great! Not that different to 2002s from my experience. Thanks for watching!

15” are the most versatile in my opinion, specially recording, they are less piercing. I own 14, 15 and 16”. My favorite to play just because of the feel are the 16” but the 15” are more versatile

I feel like the new Sound Edge serve the high volume rock sound for sure but, to me, they're a little too bright to be general purpose and sit a little too high in the mix even then (just my opinion). The black label, 1971-1980, versions are the amongst the best of that 2002 vintage 15" sound edge and are really nice but a minor fortune to acquire. Check those out if you're able. You'll fall in love. If we're being honest, the 15" 2002 heavy HH are amazing (modern and vintage), a Jeff Porcaro favorite along with the vintage 602 Heavy HH (but his 2002 and 602 heavy HHs might have been 14", not 15"). Modern Hi-hats from Paiste, the 15" 602 heavy HH are great and extremely versatile and my current favorite the super versatile 15" Dark Energy HH, buttery when needed, bite and attack when you lay into them.

Thanks for your comments-I own a set of 15” 602HH and I love them! Porcaro also used 14” 602 Mediums and even a set of Zildjian K/Zs on the later Toto stuff. These 15” SEs are great all rounders, if you have the right touch they are pretty versatile(unless you go overboard with the velocity!)Cheers!

the sound formula series of cymbals are very cool if a person likes them and am speaking of it personally as I once owned a pair of 14" inch sound edge hi hats

@@honourisdrumming okay alright since they are in / of the 15 " inch size I love that size actually it's in a different range of frequencies / pitch range than the 14 inch sizes

@@honourisdrumming the pair that you have are also the 2nd generation of the series line of the 2002:paiste family series line the red lettering / emblazoning definitely indicates this to be so and they are a little more beefy most likely that is to say a little heavier in weight than the first generation the black lettered emblazoned 1's would be of which I personally like a lot more actually .....okay alright that being said you have an excellent pair of 15" inch sound edge hi hat cymbals of wich. to look and sound excellent and in excellent condition as to what I can tell congratulations very cool & lovely 🙂😊❤️
