I have this port of this game! It's a shame that this is the only Junior Adventure game to be released for the PlayStation 1, though. I'm pretty convinced that it's because by the time this port was made, Humongous Entertainment was getting close to being in financial trouble. If Putt-Putt Enters the Race was ported for the PS1, it would have allowed players to use the left analog stick on the DualShock 1 controller to steer Putt-Putt left or right during the race activity, just like in any actual racing game for the same platform. If Freddi Fish 5 and Spy Fox 3 had PS1 ports, it would have the same main menu structures as this port (along side a PS1 port of Putt-Putt Enters the Race if they would have made one). What do you think? Anyway, nice walkthrough!

I would really like to hear about how Humongous Entertainment ran into financial trouble and got bought by Atari and why they stopped making games. Is there an article or something? I love H.E. and LucasArts' old P&C's. All I know is that some people from LucasArts also worked at H.E. and I have played Pajama Sam 4 and it just didn't hold up as well the other games did before it.

They are currently all on Steam thankfully at a good price, and playable on Windows, Liunx, and Mac well except Pajama Sam 4 which is Windows only unless you force Proton for Linux to see if it works. Going to be picking them up for my youngest nephew who just turned 1 so he has them when he's old enough to play them.

That's because for some reason, they did not port any more Junior Adventure games to the PlayStation 1. Well, at least a few other Junior Adventure titles were released for the Panasonic 3DO and the Nintendo Wii.

Man, Humongous Entertainment really struggled to expand their Junior Adventure games to other consoles and platforms. It really says something when the 3DO ports were arguably the best ones they got.
@MrEightThreeOne5 жыл бұрын
If we're not referring to the original three games, the Macintosh versions are pretty much identical to the Windows versions, save for using a way smaller (and yellow) cursor. But other than that, yeah, not a whole lot of decent ports.
@CEO100able5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but Junior Adventure console game ports would have been more popular on the PlayStation 1 if they released more Junior Adventure games on it because the Panasonic 3DO was unfortunately a short-lived video game console while the PlayStation 1's support lasted much longer. For the past several years, however, I've been standing by my theory that Humongous Entertainment was too close to being in financial trouble by the time this game was ported for the PS1. In addition, there was a controller that acted like a computer mouse called the "PlayStation Mouse," so why couldn't this version had just implemented support for it? Oh well, at least a few other PS1 games like "My Disney Kitchen," "Winnie the Pooh: Preschool," and "Winnie the Pooh: Kindergarten" had PlayStation Mouse support available.

The holy grail of Humongous Entertainment ports finally has footage! Finally! For the record, for a PS1 port, this is...well I prefer the original PC version, but this version isn't too bad, but it isn't as good as the PC version. While the voices, animations and music are still there, the reason is that a good amount of the music is gone, and most of the animations are disappointingly either removed, modified or happen off-screen. This almost ruins the pace of the PC version originally gave us. Also, sometimes the animations are very fast for no apparant reason. Maybe because of the PS1 CD limitations? I don't know... And lastly, the lip synching is...not in the same level as the atrocious "Pajama Sam 4", but because this is on the PlayStation, it moves alright. But other than that, the game plays, well, just like the PC version. It's a shame that most of the music is gone and most of the animations are happening either differently or off-screen, unfortunately nearly ruining the pace and wit of the PC game. Well, at least they tried, but I prefer the original PC version. That game is better than the PSX version. UPDATE FOR MAY 5: Replaying the game, and I saw the etiquette scene. And I feel the same way. It happens completely off-screen in this version! Why did it happened off-screen in this port? It almost ruined the pace of the PC version of the scene! I mean, the original voices are still there, but...why?

Wow. That was unfortunately a strange glitch they accidentally put in somehow. Sometimes production mistakes like that happen in other video games, like the North American NTSC PlayStation 1 version of "Play With The Teletubbies" when they accidentally forgot to replace Tim Whitnall's "Naughty Noo-Noo!" line from the UK version with Rolf Saxon's variant.
