The main disseminator Cheung Lai Chun Sifu was the one who named the style “Pak Mei”after learning from his teacher the monk Juk Fat Won and he also added material from his previous three teachers into the system which he always publicly acknowledged.

@@Pakua4581 There are similarities / crossover between Pak Mei / Wing Chun / Preying Mantis / dont quote me but i think they all have a similar Bil Gee knuckle strike etc, they all have Chi Sao sensitivity practice etc..... And all 3 styles feel like your being constrained... your compressing and narrowing the trunk and torso or making the torso / trunk a smaller tighter target..... I played around with Pak Mei and was taught Northern Mantis and was obviously interested in Wing Chun.... All 3 are like rival styles, there are others similar as well.... the point striking is inherent in Wing Chun and Mantis etc for example Oh and Frankie Chan was also supposedly a Wing Chun expert hence the Prodigal Son.... i dont want to say ALL 3 styles are interchangeable because i would be hunted down.... but what i mean is the concept of close quarters, locks and traps.... i know Mantis the finger nails of the thumbs and index finger? was kept long and sharp! so if you practiced one finger pushups youre practically a lethal weapon tearing and slicing and cutting veins and arteries, eyes and necks just with your fingers! This is why kung fu was never taught to foreigners! @Pakua45812 ай бұрын
Thank you,I know all of this as my lineage is from Tai Sigung Ng Yiu who was one of Cheung Lai Chuns early 5 closed door disciples. This is a general video meant to spread awareness and not a magazine article. Juk Fat Wans student was the one who Cheung Lai Chun met at a restaurant and was defeated by him,the student used the ‘monk removes cassock’move to throw Cheung into an aquarium which resulted in his face getting cut(the scar was visible throughout his life).Cheung took a lot of eggs for the then 90 year old Juk Fat Won (he liked eggs) as a present and sold off some of his ancestral land so that he could learn from the old monk. The Sup Ji set comes from Lo Mun Gwa or Wanderer Style,The Sam Mun set comes from Li Gar and the Ying Jow Nim Kiu set comes from Dragon shape and these three were what Cheung Lai Chun had learnt from his earlier three teachers and added these sets as a homage to them (he incorporated the unique Pak Mei mechanics into all three)and Always acknowledged their origin.(do you want me to add more info?) You are incorrect about the startle power taking 20 plus years to develop as it takes a year of correct training at the most. This was a tale told by the old masters as a way of protecting their own status. I am also a 6th generation master of an old Hakka Mantis system and my lineage has very specific training methods for this power development and I give a personal guarantee to my students that they would develop this power within a set time frame, till now this has always been the case and I speak from my own experience. You are right about the Taoist part as that is where the “Sine Kung” or spirit Kung fu learning comes from (the altar and shrine would have the “inverted fire”symbol that alludes to this). Have a look at my other videos to see the short power at work. Be well
