Hi..In hinduism Guru holds a very different meaning..It is not similar to what a modern day teacher is..Guru is someone who gives a part of his own life energies(or a part of his own identity) to you to take forward his ideologies throughout the world and shows you a path of spirituality to self realisation or mukti..For every spiritual person, there is only one guru in their life , they might get inspired by someone else but guru is just one person..Guru means 'dispeller of darkness' in Sanskrit

That speech was in 1893 when the global and country's situation was totally different than its now (it's worse now 😆). Swami Vivekananda showed the 'path of action' to get across this life and to realize the divinity within each of us. Swamiji had attained supreme spirituality since childhood.....infact in his childhood once he was meditating along with his friends.......and suddenly a cobra came from somewhere....the other children started screaming out of fear and ran away but Swamiji never even opened his eyes for once.The snake reared up, spreaded its hood and watched him for some time. Then slowly it bowed to Swamiji and slithered away without touching or disturbing him.His friends were awed by the divine protection Swamiji had acquired through his Intense Concentration and Love for God.
