The movie is based on a poem by Malik Muhammad jayasi presenting a fictional account. Alaudin do invade chittor but it was not to get its queen because padmavati is fictional character. But movie is awesome and ranveer singh totally nailed the role.

Ranveer Singh is hundred times better than Shahrukh , salman and Amir even Ranbir Kapoor is zero infront of ranveer singh , Shahrukh had facial expressions very nice but before from 1992 to 1997 Shaharuk did best acting not now ,now Shahrukh is expression less , only Indian Muslims watch Shahrukh Khan and Salman's movie no one else is interested but Shahrukh was excellent performer when he was young , but salman khan is zero in front of ranveer singh .

It is just this story that has a rogue brahman. The movie doesn't really try to show all brahmans as bad people. I think you are reading too much into it. Khilji was a cruel ruler no doubt, he wasn't a good ruler but a very good fighter and conqueror. He prevented 4-5 mongol attacks to India. That was one of the only redeeming qualities of him.
