2,4,5 are used to indicate the HORSE POWER range or rating of the Locomotive. Higher the number usually it indicates a higher haulage power of the Loco. Not necessarily does it indicate any speed of the Loco. For example 12000 HP Locos can travel at a maximum of 110Kmph but can haul huge tonnage of weight over flat or gradient tracks!!...

27:42 sandbox is a type of software testing also, which means testing in safe environment. the concept is same here in locomotives as well, to provide safe environment... by adding friction to rails for flawless pulling. but sands, i reckon is quite a traditional way of providing friction, i dunno how efficient it is. but if not so efficient, it should be improved now.

29:47 moazzam... nomenclature of locomotives vary across countries, so the naming rules in pak may differ from that in india. this video might not help you in guessing names in pak locomotives.

Balu means sands founds in rivers seas etc.when wheel starts to sleep due to heavy load in rain season locopilot push some sand in rail in front of wheels to generate friction in between wheel and track for a best pulling effect.

bhai Khan sir, kuch bhi mat pelo... electrical engineering is the toughest branch of engineering. aap ne 11, 22, 33KV ka mazak udaa diya... Purane dino me slide rule ka istemaal hota thaa... isme 11 ke multiples me kaam karna easy hota thaa... even frequency of the AC voltage is 50/3 cps
