Rohail Nazeer is a part of the "Shakeel Sheikh lobby" of Islamabad cricket. Don't get me wrong, he is a good person and As Jarrod said, has a good head on his shoulders. But he is barely a middling cricketer who was at the right place at the right time kind of thing (As in he has played all his cricket from Diamond cricket Club Islamabad, Shakeel's club) . Islamabad actually has a much better wicket-keeper batsman in Rizwan Ali, who has also represented Pakistan u-19 and is a much better cricketer overall. You can check his numbers in last years President Trophy Grade 2. He was man of the match in the final. But he barely gets chances in the Quaid-e-azam trophy (FC) because Rohail is again, the captain with the right connections. Imad wasim is also from the same club. Both of Shakeel's sons are also First Class cricketers.

I love watching and listening to your discussions. Y'all are doing a great job and your comments are always fun to listen to. Regarding the backup wicketkeeper discussion, maybe it has to do with the concussion/injury sub. If something happens to Rizwan (he does get cramps quite a lot), Rohail can come in. I don't think there's anything wrong with having a wicketkeeper in the squad, now when a substitute fielder can keep wickets (if I'm not wrong) and can also bat in case of a concussion. I don't think anyone else in the squad can keep wickets.
