Surely Devon Malcolm and Phil Tufnell should appear in the Walsh-esque 'comic batting' no. 11 category. England were absolutely blessed in that era, Mullally had his moments as well.

How difficult is it to understand when the ball is not kissing the bat in the frame then the spike on the snicko is of some other sound. Yet we see multiple times umpires ignore that. Happened in the recent SL vs IND series. Really pathetic boomer shit.

There is a shortage of quality umpires/referees across many sports because of overbearing parents at the lowest levels who believe their 8 year old is the next coming of [insert legend of your respective sport here], abusing the hell out of these people (who are almost always volunteers doing this job for free), over a decision that goes against their child/s team. When the discord around so many proverbial barbershops has shifted from "wow, did you see that player do that unbelievable thing in that match last time?", to "wow, did you see how that umpire made that decision that went against the team I support? They must be on the take! We should setup a Royal Commission immediately to investigate this!" the bridge has gone too far.

We are just lucky that this was in a Hundred game. If Nigel Llong gave the same decision in England's favour in a woman's white ball game I'd call him biased towards England and some would even insinuate that he is racist depending on opposition. The lack of comment from ICC/ ECB would have become a cover-up and people like you defending him would become the SENA mafia. It's sad but the erosion of trust that has become because of decades of baggage that cricket has is making the modern achievements less fruitful than they normally would seem.

I prefer Estelle's team just change Brett Lee with Nortje. Trent Boult can bowl 3 overs in power play with Badri ( Based on the type of pitch can Malinga or Nortja can bowl 1 over in) Naraine & Malinga can bowl any time anywhere. Team bating All-rounder can pitch in with 1/2 over.

i think the idea time to retire was at around 36-37 from representative cricket. Anyway, like wridhimaan saha,you get communicated that we are moving on from you. so you get like 3/4 franchise oppurtunities like bbl, SA 20, CPL, LPL, the hundred. You get 2 gigs and become their fav, give out all you have learned, possibly u can even become an assistant coach or mentor or something. ashwin is right at it. he can now retire from representative cricket and he will be the most valuable in all sena countries :) you know like there some 1000 spinners in india. its ok. bye bye to ipl if you dont need me!

BILATERAL SERIES since 2005 because from 97-2005 only a few matches were played and series were drawn. There were 4 tri series wins in the same period along with various other ODI series like the aiwa cup etc for SL. These video titles are straight from the Dinda academy.

Despite the experiments and lineup changes made to test the bench strength, I would argue that India would still have lost, even if they had fielded their best team, including Bumrah and Shami, especially while chasing. The real issue here is that the established Indian batters are neglecting their spin-playing skills, which are crucial for success on turning tracks. As Dinesh Karthik pointed out in a recent interview, once players are in the national squad, the focus shifts almost entirely to preparing for fast bowling. Over time, this neglect leads to a significant decline in their ability to play spin effectively, leaving them vulnerable on spin-friendly wickets. It's time to mandate that all Indian batters, regardless of their stature or status, regularly participate in domestic cricket to sharpen their skills, particularly against spin. This would ensure that they remain well-rounded and better prepared for the challenges of international cricket.
@Lathi33
@Lathi33 4 күн бұрын
You should not care much about bilaterals at all.. It's been too many years Indian mgt cared too much about bilaterals and not about world cups. You don't almost never rank turners like this in world cups anyways. You normally gets sporting wickets in icc tournaments.. Still currently India is best players of spin anyways.
@santugk
@santugk 4 күн бұрын
@@Lathi33 You probably didn't watch much of the T20 WC to call them 'sporty' wickets. My larger point was all-round development of indian batters. For a while now they seem vulnerable against spin- quality'or otherwise. This could be exploited against the team if neglected. In lieu of WC or any tournament preparations, we need to have a team that is adept to win in all conditions.
