Actually Gill was exceptional eversince his junior days, dude used to bag u12, u16, u19 cricketer of the year awards just like that. He was known to play extraordinarily big innings (he would outscore entire opposition alone). His talent & consistency made ppl see a young Kohli in him. Sadly while that talent is still there he hasn’t been able to maintain that consistency in his intl journey till now, otherwise he would’ve smashed a lot more records by now. If he ever manages to regain that, he can become the biggest thing atleast of the upcoming generation!

Minor correction 2016 U19 team captain was Ishan Kishan not Pant Also he probably is the best WK bat if you objectively look at the numbers, but with the way test cricket has gone, in the last 5-10 years let alone 20, it has become easier to bat down the order, and in the long term the role of the WK bat has changed a lot so its hard to make a judgement

Gill has been the blue eyed boy of Punjab and Indian cricket since his U14 and U16 days. He was the highest run scorer at U16 State tournament all over India, So, he was already seen as a prodigal talent along with Shaw whereas Jaiswal never got that hype till he played U19 world cup. Also, Gill's backfoot play against fast bowling is really amazing. He can pull a 90 miles on the frontfoot towards long on area because he picks up length so early, and Gill plays spin well, & Jaiswal plays it really well. But Jaiswal has got some vulnerabilities against fast bowling. So, Gill has a higher ceiling on talent scale (Just like Rohit is more talented than Virat but runs might suggest otherwise).

There's a huge difference between how Congress/UPA does stuff and how BJP does it. Jay Shah, Anuraag Thakur spent time in state associations and worked up from the bottom. Even Jaitley was a DDCA member for 3 decades before he became DDCA President. On the other hand Pawar and Shukla were paradropped as Presidents of their State Associations.

Everyone in India agrees that Pant is the best test keeper for India ever. Correction - Ishan Kishan was the captain of that U19 World Cup team, Pant was the vice captain. From that team Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan, Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, Sarfaraz Khan & Washington Sundar have gone on to play for India.

purely as a wicketkeeper batter perhaps pant is ahead of dhoni now. But dhoni is an emotion guys. Not just about wicketkeeping and batting. Dhoni the captain cool. Dhoni the finisher. Dhoni the winner of all cups. As much as I am a fan of you guys, I think you are really spreading yourself thin by doing these one and a half hour podcasts so regularly. I love the regular videos but I think restricting the length to a fixed time can help you guys be more precise (lets be honest, you guys are still pretty new as podcasters and brevity is not your strength). Any topics not finished by the time limit can be carried over to the next episode thus ensuring surplus content for regular episodes. I am also noticing a lack of technical talk with data from Varun and other contributors. This has now been replaced by a lot of filler talk about Pakistani media landscape, PCB shenanigans, online trolling, and other peripheral cricketing matters. While its fine to bring up these important topics once in a while, it becomes really boring when you keep repeating the same opinion about these areas in every episode. At this point, regular listeners already know what your opinion will be to any news in this ballpark and I think it will really benefit you if you make discussions on out of field matters more concise (brevity strikes again!) and to-the-point instead of going on the same philosophical rants about separation of politics and sports each time. I fear about you guys becoming just a sophisticated version of Wasay and Iffi in this regard. Finally, I am from the subcontinent and I know how classless people can be while giving their criticism online, so I sympathize with you when you bring up your own experiences with it as you guys move up in the sports broadcasting/journalism world. Having said that, bringing this up again in every episode just pads the runtime and makes me just reach for my phone and skip those segments each time. Again, the quality listeners that you are searching for already know about these realities of life and it would be much better if you address this more sporadically. I hope you take this comment as constructive criticism and don't go on a rant again about "talking about what we want". I understand the sentiment behind the idea of not compromising your own convictions but again not all the convictions have to talked about in each podcast. Your audience will make you at this stage of your career. I don't know what kind of feedback you get from the Jaanis but your fanbase is just not big enough to ignore the criticisms from casual viewers which have been quite unanimous in pointing out that the podcast has become a bit meandering and boring in the last month or so. All the best for the future. Cheers! PS: I would love for you guys to do an episode where you talk about the top 10 great all rounders in test cricket and presenting the data and justification for each pick in your own eyes. We have Kallis, Sobers, Jadeja, Big 4 of the 80s (Khan, Dev, Hadlee, Botham), Keith Miller already as potential top10s. I think this would be the type of content that can really drive engagement and at the same time would be new for a lot of us if you unearth some lesser known names of the past.

Jio / star sports ka ad mostly chutiyapa hota hai. Rishabh pant under19 world cup, 2016 West Indies se final haara tha. In test rishabh pant all time india xi team me already hai. Pant test mein 6 century ke saath wo five 90+ and one 89 not out hai. Pant overseas century maara hai test,odi both but dhoni ne kbhi nhi kisi format me. Pant is flop in t20 international,even after so many chances but dhoni too was flop in t20 international overall. Dhoni is far better batsman in odi (except later phase of his career) than pant. Red soil favour pacer more but slowly slowly start cracking and help spinner in later phase of test match. Black soil (which is also in Bangladesh) is spinning from day 1,maybe session 1. Rohit and virat bahut saare matches me flop hue hai aur middle+lower order ne match jitaya hai,in home test match hmari batting middle order se hi start hoti hai mostly. Rahane,pujara,kohli last 4 years se test me less than 25 average hai.
