Pakistan use aim120 export variant with 105 km range. So the replacement is exact same range turkish missile. There is no "majboori" in it. Pakistan is not getting much support from USA and aim120 also failed in 2019 against su30.

Pakistan bought 500 AIM-120C-5 AMRAAM missiles from the US in 2006. Their shelf life is 10-15 years, extendable with proper maintenance. However, regular maintenance, inspections, and servicing can extend the operational life of these missiles by additional years if required. 0nly 02 missiles were fired 0n 27 feb 2019, one of them downed Abhi nandan mig21. So PAF has no urgency to acquire more AIM 120C or similar missiles for its F-16 fleet.

Pakistan is a partner in many Turkish defense programs. Pakistan wanna establish its own missiles, avionics industry independent from China. So apparently Pakistan has many hidden deala with Turkiye to be part of their modernization projects. So thats why Turkish and Pakistani air forces would induct those lower end intermediate product to support/billnthe budget of R&D of those companies to keep building better products. Like Turkiye, Pakistan have many old F-16s, so may be those missiles would be used on the older variants

@neelkoli3319 Did the Pakistan Army even bother shooting down the BrahMos missile? Absolutely not. We tracked it, calculated its point of impact, and calmly let it crash into an empty field. Why waste a valuable missile on junk that was already destined to fail? Honestly, India should be grateful we didn’t respond-because if we had, the fallout wouldn’t have been limited to an empty field; it would’ve been a lot more devastating. It’s shameful to see a nation beating its chest over what was clearly a grave mistake caused by a few idiots. Instead of introspection or accountability, this blunder has been absurdly transformed into a badge of misplaced pride. As for the HQ-9B, inducted in March 2024, how could it possibly fail? But clearly, some are too busy conjuring up imaginary failures to distract from their own glaring ineptitude.
