People largely think that religion and Dharma are the same, which is not. Hindu word was coined by some invaders (Likely by Alexander ) taken from S(indu) valley/river and was termed for the civilisation beyond Sindhu River towards east. Sanatan is one of the oldest civilizations on earth spread from beyond Mayanmar in the east to Afghanistan in the west and Tibet in the north to Srilanka in the south, where several cultures grew depending upon the geography and intermingled. That is why all over India we have many practices in common and many still regional. We see that few practices and beliefs of this civilisation are found as far as in Malaysia, Indonesia,Thailand, Vietnam and Philippines. Beauty of the civilisation has been the people have been welcoming to every thought process, philosophy and religion and for that people sometimes had to pay price also. Islam could be one of them.

Manusmriti itself has been commented upon and reformed many times by scholars like Medhatithi, Nilakantha, Lakshmidhara, etc. Regardless, hindu matters are governed today by Nehru's "Hindu Code". 3. You have written a lot of dumb and vitriolic things. "Shudras have no right to own land", where did you pull that from? If you cared to read anything except from one facebook page, you would have known that laws were mostly dictated by Arthashastras, not Dharmashāstras. The later were only guidance in personal life. And if you care to refer to Kautilya's Arthashastra, you would know that not even King can take anyone's inheritance, unlike the "Iqta" system that Turks favoured. 4. BORI has categorically proved that the story of Shambuka is a later interpolation and fabrication and has no basis in the original Ramayana. 5. Sita had to do Agnipariksha to satisfy the doubts of the plebs as she was not a random woman but a queen and in the antiquities, Queens were supposed to be embodiment of chastity. One pleb still accused her, because that's what they do. They are mindless people who can only through accusations without any sense or weight.

It was the north-western region of British India that should not be confused with the Republic of India that itself was created in 1947. With the exception of the Peshawar valley, the entire area was annexed from Afghanistan by British Colonialists in the late 19th century. Ghaffar Khan was a reformer and freedom fighter and he proposed a joint struggle for independence to the AIML before it was offered to the Congress. His primary objective was to free the Pashtun land from British colonial rule. In the subsequent stage, the aim was the reunification of the entire Pashtun land with Afghanistan. Unfortunately, the British insisted on dividing their colony into two parts only, which was unjust to those with distinct identities, values, histories, and cultures from other South Asians.

Sirs,Prof Hoodbhoy's book bypasses completely one important aspect of indian history,which is conversion of hindus into becoming muslims,either by choice or compulsion or incentives. In fact this is the most important aspect of indian history starting at 712 AD and lasting almost 1300 years.
