The best Food street is in Gulam muhamadabad Sadar bazar Nagina chowk, in Faisalabad it's just miles and miles of Food! you should definitely try the Shawarma and Paratha roll it's heavenly! Can't find anything like that here in all of Faisalabad or UK! Oh and a another really nice place with historical background would be the shrines in Faisalabad it's actually my Great Great Grandfathers shrine there too at Baba Kemsign Darbar, Definitely a tourist must see!

I recently learned that the city of Lyallpur derived it's layout plan from the Union Jack. Lyallpur was one of the few greenfield townships developed by the British as part of the Chenab river development. Seventy five years back, my father's family had to flee this city. My grandfather was the erstwhile Principal of the agriculture college in Lyallpur. Once in Delhi, he was a refugee, compelled to start life afresh. Since then Pakistan rechristianed the city as Faisalabad after a Saudi King. It was yet another affirmation of the Pakistani Muslim's belief that he was culturally derived of Arabia. This had been the cause of his denial to living with Hindus and Sikhs earlier. I didn't get a chance to grow up in Lyallpur. But my family fled for their faith and I don't live in denial or in confusion. Our beliefs hold continuity. Unlike Lyallpur's. Or Faisalabad's.
