I travelled from UK to Lahore in 1976 on a Chevrolet Nova SS V8 but in those days it was much safer than today and Iran was wonderful NO MULLAHS and since I had a US Passport I did not need Visa for most Countries, I did wish That I had a 4 Wheel Drive as roads in Turkey were very bad. The Nova performed very well

no big deal , travelled from uk to Quetta pakistan twice , with my family when I was a kid , those days no Google map , no mobile phones , not many people could speak English in those countries we drove through so communication was difficult!

@@hamzakhan-cw1ui no you don’t pay any tax because the car comes on a carnet which is a temporary import document. You have to pay a deposit equal to the value of the car and a fee to the issuing company. Once the car is back in the issuing country then you get part of the deposit back

For import there are such restrictions to protect local industry but this car was brought on carnet (duty free permit) and must be taken back to UK within prescribed time limit.
