Chillies and coriander are for people who want the curry or palak paneer to be a little more spicy so they can add more spice. Yogurt sauce (raita) is used with any dish to make it less spicy or just to make easier to eat. And you don't eat sauces with naan. They just go well with different Pakistani meal. And we eat curry vegies etc with naan instead of spoon

The Tzatziki-like sauce is called Raita, and is a mainstream Pakistani accompaniment, used just like Tzatziki, for kebabs, pilafs/Biryanis etc. The same sauce appears in Turkish and Iranian cuisines as cacik and Mast-o-Khiar respectively. Another accompaniment which is common between these cuisines is a salad of chopped onions/tomatoes/cucumber with lemon juice. This is called Katchumber/Salad Shirazi/Piyaz salad/Ntomatosalata in Urdu, Farsi, Turkish & Greek respectively.

The Garlic sauce is from middle east and it was to add flavor to the meat, which was fish in your case. We don't use Salmon in Pakistan. Rohu, trout, Tilapia, and red snapper are more commonly used, and the flavors work better with our cuisine. The yogurt and cumin dip was for the rice, and the brown sauce was tamarind chutney. It is usually sweet and savory, the tamarind itself being sour. Those chilli peppers are usually not served like that with our cuisine. Usually either fresh coriander leaves or mint leaves are added to it and its ground together to form a more blended consistency. Rohu fish, native to South Asia belongs to the Carp family.

Palak Paneer - 'Palak' is spinach! Also, The green spices you just ate are TOPPINGS! You mix with the gravy and sauces and eat! Chicken Tikka Masala is really good with rice as well if not naan! The spice reaction 10/10!

Both the dishes are more famous in Europe since it suits the European palette. When you come to Pakistan you will see a lot more variety. Veg one which you dude are eating is compressed cottage cheese which swallow fried first then latter it is cooked with tomato ,cashew,onion ,ginger,turmeric,chilli powder,cardamom,onion(above all are fried in oil)latter it is cooked in slow flame

Guys r u sure this is a Pakistani food? Most restaurant businesses r own by Indian and bangalis here in UK and Europe and locals can’t tell the difference. There is a big difference in Indian bangali and Pakistani food. Few dishes r similar and called the same but most dishes there recipe cooking style are completely different. Main spices used by all three cultures r the same but some spices r different. Pakistan have more meat dishes like karahi style and barbecue while Indian have more vegetarian dishes. Even the cooking style and amount of spice in the similar dishes not the same. Unfortunately u have to travel to Pakistan specially in Lahore to try the authentic dishes. Pakistani dishes have to be cooked from scratch every time and there is a timing for when each ingredient goes in to the dish. All these restaurants here prepare tomatoes and onion gravy and use that in all chicken lamb dishes. So half the dish is pre cooked night before. In restaurant business u can’t cook every dish from scratch it is not possible but that way u never know how the authentic dish taste like. That gravy in your both dishes is the same they just chuck the chicken or lamb in and do little bit of frying. Pakistani food is low to medium spicy and as you travel further down south in India you find more spicy dishes. These dishes you eating I can tell from just looking r not Pakistani and not authentic at all. I’ve found couple of Pakistani restaurants in London who do cook authentic Pakistani food and they cook those from scratch. They r absolutely delicious.

R & J For a suggestion the yogurt sauce is called Raita and is ate with The rice which is called pulao and the Both curries are not called "sauce" its called " Salan " and the other chilli sauce is called chutney in the small Bowlet.

Palak Paneer literally means spinach cheese. But the cheese is special type. The red color on chicken is from tandoori masala which contains Kashmir chilli which is less spicy and more color.

Omg hahahah u ate raw green chilies!! That's like a condiment that SOME people sprinkle on their food cuz they like a bit more spice. The sweet sauce is the sweet tamarind sauce. It's great with fish. The palak paneer didn't seem to have much palak (spinach) though. We don't have salmon in Pakistan so fish Tikka may not taste good enough with salmon fish. As for the naan- it's best when it's fresh out of the tandoor, smeared with fresh ghee.

This is definitely not an authentic Pakistani food with authentic flavours! Though, at least you had a taste. Pakistani food has not only curries but many barbecue food items too! Pakistani naan breads are of different types and full of amazingly delicious flavours. Indeed, that yogurt sauce (called Raita in Pakistan) neutralises the spicy flavours. You both are very polite and friendly!!! I started watching your videos couple of months ago, and I loved all of them. No. Its not typical to have these sauces but yet yogurt raita id usually used. Yoghrt with crushed freshed coriander n mint and sometimes only cumin seeds
