On Pakistan’s 75th Birthday, DICE Foundation has gifted the country with Nur-E 75 - Pakistan’s first indigenous electric hatchback car!
This electric vehicle prototype has been designed and developed by DICE Foundation, a U.S.-based non-profit organization run by Pakistani expatriates, along with support from Local academia and industry. The prototype of Pakistan’s first electric hatchback has been named Nur-E (named after Noor). The name of the Electric Car company is named JaXari (named after a scientist from the 12 century, Ismael al-Jazari).

think this interview guy was arrogant and being un-necessarily being critical of a product that is not even commercialized yet. So the guy that stopped him did the right thing. Pakistani general public, which is non-productive anyway, have this bad attitude of criticizing the people who are at least doing something for the country. Pakistanis just want everything imported. And look at what is happening now, due to all those imports. Pakistan is bankrupt. Even babies diapers are imported. What a shame. Pakistanis do not deserve a Made in Pakistan Car, since they only love Imports.

If u can't take criticism against ur product then then don't display nor sell it. I am quite shocked at the attitude of the PR guy and the way he treated the representative of such a respected brand of your country. No interest in this car anymore due to alot of reasons. Worldwide, prototypes are usually the most fine copy of the units to be produced in the future. They only strip a feature or two to cut the cost for consumer but its always downgrading rather then upgrading the prototype. Here, the case is totally the opposite. The car seems to be made in a garage from assembly of parts from different manufacturers/vehicles. Moreover, the company representatives (the lady screaming and the guy in suit) needs to attend Etiquettes and Manners 101. If they cannot accept criticism about the different parts they have grabbed from different cars and tried to put on a show, maybe they should start some other business and not represent Pakistan in such a disgusting manner. Instead of being pesky and high critical non-productive people, Pakistanis should be thankful that a serious attempt is being made to manufacture electric cars in Pakistan by a serious group of talented and productive people that love and care about Pakistan. I am a Pakistani American, and I live in Detroit, the motor capital of USA. People here in State of Michigan are Die-Hard supporters of American Automobile Industry. We Pakistanis, most of us, are very Critical of everything that others in Pakistan are doing. True, this is a prototype car, but come on man, you don't need to find faults in everything. Specially in a very nascent industry, where Pakistan has not been able to Manufacture its own brand, despite several serious attempts by the Truly Patriotic, Wonderful, engineers of Pakistan. Those attempts at making National Cars of Pakistan, like Proficient in 1988, and Adam Revo in 2004, failed, because of Highly Critical People of Pakistan and also connivance of the local looter's club of Auto-Assemblers Mafia. We should support a new National Car Industry. Look at all other neighboring countries, Iran, China, India, that border Pakistan, except of Afghanistan, all of them have a vibrant and successful Local Car Manufacturing industry. Pakistan also could have been one of them, if our local people were not so highly pesky and critical. One American Ambassador in Pakistan also observed the same thing about Pakistan, when she stated, Pakistanis are very talented people but they are Extremely critical of themselves. This type of attitude needs to be re-evaluated. All other people of the neighboring countries, they support all their National products with all their faults. Tata in India used to assemble buses and trucks made out of Wooden bodies till 1990's. But Indians supported it all along, and they and their government did not allow Japanese Trucks and Buses, and Tata gained strength due to local people and Indian government's support and in 1998 they finally launched India's First National Car, Tata Indica. Pakistan had launched it own National Car 10 years before India in 1988. But Suzuki Motors made sure that pick up failed, by paying Wapda , Telephone company and others to cut Electric, telephone and Gas connections to the Proficient Motor's Factory in Sindh, they local crooks paid by Suzuki, made that company fail. Also Pakistanis did not realize the importance of supporting their own Country and Local Car industry even back then. This is why Pakistan is now under so much foreign debts, and loans, due to its inability to have a proper industry of any sort and non caring government attitude and also highly critical Awam, that wants Germany and Japan Standard Cars from a new manufacturer in Pakistan. Come on now people be realistic and be thankful that Pakistan has such people that are willing to invest in Pakistan and make Pakistan a Car Manufacturing and Car Exporting Country. Look at India, which was behind us in Car Industry in 1980's is now decades ahead of us, they done it by support from their Government and their Patriotic People, who would buy a Wooden Body made Buses and Trucks and NOT COMPLAIN, and make their own auto industry strong enough to compete slowly and taking baby steps. This is the attitude we need to have, support all the Pakistani attempts, no matter what.

I was desperately waiting for Pak wheels review on this car but sadly they weren't allowed to review it completely. Furthermore, the interior needs a lot of innovation and improvements and the back lights should be properly fitted indigenously designed lights. Wheel and finder gap is very big and overall it needs maturity. A beige inside with glass dashboard and head up display will be a boost for this car and indicator lights and overall lights must be something of a new design. The back of the car is clearly showing less skilled laboured job on the body design and cutting. It need time and insha'Allah will be a very good car in future. Lots of love from UK ❤️

This honestly looks like a publicity stunt just so we are not embarrassed that India on its 75th anniversary revealed its in produced car (given its already miles ahead in auto manufacture) and we re-mastered the national anthem. It looks like a Honda E rebuilt by a local mechanic with scrap parts. As much as we want Pakistan to progress feeding lies to people is wrong and a false image of progress, when there is nothing but optics. Their attitude towards Pakwheels crew was more then enough to say this.

Before watching the full video, I was excited to watch this video saved it in my watchlist. What a shocker! I am surprised the Head Khurshid Qureshi the way he reacted. Typically on a forum like this where product is unveiled as a prototype expectations are set accordingly, and presentation is done by the CMO or someone from the Marketing department as they have the accumen how to present and address the press. I think it is a great initiative Pakistan will locally design and produce EVs for local consumptions and for export. Kudos for the initiative. PakWheels reviewer was doing a great job in the interview and asking the questions, but hostility could be sensed when Mr. Qureshi responded expaining the pricing justification, the message could have been delivered more positively so it will resoniate with the audience as a positve win, but unfortunately Mr. Qureshi's hostility was a huge turn-off, simply what an 'ASSHOLE!' PakWheels you are doing a great job, keep up the good work, ignore this incident, we should be proud of our Pakistan's local talent, our local universities are part of the design team in delivering this project. The interior was prototype not the final material and finish, but just concept, so ignore talking about design, the concentration should be on features and capabilities that the final product will have.

3:11 10 lakhs just for the batteries insane the representative is saying that it will save money as compared to gasoline cars. Batteries deteriorate with time so when the batteries are done after a couple of years. It will cost 10 lakhs so all the running cost saved would be in vain. Well impressed to see various institutions working together on the auto sector. Let's hope for an era of pure locally made automobiles with international standard features and safety protocols

Even before the host mentioned it i thought the same about the looks . It does look like honda e and there is nothing wrong with that for a prototype and the host did mention that this is just a prototype and production varient always has better fit and finish compared to prototype. Host was professional but that company guy was typical unprofessional shopkeeper type.

The main takeaway from this video is that if they are using parts from their rival car manufacturers in the prototype, then it means that they don't have the means to source that part themselves, nor do they have an original design. Startups like these have come and gone in the past as well for both, EVs and gasoline powered cars. Nothing came of those promises, each and every startup feels like a false dawn. We should be supportive, that is correct, but the company needs to show some commitment or diligence which they are currently lacking severely, and neither does this company look to be exhibiting any sorts of transparency. If we are worried about the import culture/mafia being dishonest, the local car manufacturers have the ability to be even more sketchy. Caution is necessary folks.

The first Tesla was based on the Lotus Elise chassis. Whatever you’re stating is not completely correct but when you launch a product and you need investment to finish or polish it you can only do as much and push out a working prototype so that the investment comes through.
