Its actually a spoof of an Indian TV show called Crime Patrol. So for instance host of that show is Anup Soni and here its Anup Phony and the mannerisms of characters and changing scenes is similar to the actual show. That's what makes the context kinda more funny. Not sure if the show is till running but it had been quite widely watched. Sorry if this has already been mentioned in any other comment.
