Love from India ❤️ To your question about Houseboat timings, it stays in the backwaters till 5-5:30 pm after which it is parked near a village because of some government regulations. So boats start moving next day from 8 am and drops you back at the starting point by 9 am.

This is Kerala southern tip of India. Visit there during the monsoon season, that is from June to Nov. Onam festival is on towards the end of August. Sometimes it will be in mid September. Backwaters rivers hill stations mountains, you can enjoy trekking etc. You are most welcome.

17:38 "Coconut Chutney used in South India" is an understatement. The thing is that South India smells Coconut. Coconut products are everywhere. I also didn't like Sambhar when I had it for first time. But, slowly you will start liking it. Moreover it is very healthy food.

15:27 That depends on the package/duration of Houseboat they have chosen. Vembanad stretch is around 90 kms. Its a lagoon and draws its water from Arabian Sea.

No. Vembanad lake draws it's waters mainly from Periyar and Pampa rivers and so many other smaller rivers. These waters then go to Arabian sea. During the summer sea water enters the lake during high tides, during monsoon season if high tides happens then it will lead to severe floods. In 2018 floods the southern estuary of Vembanad almost got clogged by sand and the water from the Lake was not going to the sea properly, in the end the government had to do drudging there for the faster flow of water from the lake to the sea.

@@ajeythomas2762 But the Central part of Vembanad Kayal near Kochi is indeed open to the Arabian Sea, isn't it? I have seen that in the Summer months especially before the Monsoons, the water in the lake turns saltish as the water flow in the Pamba river becomes less.

@@upresins , the kochi region is the northern stretch of Vembanad and yes during summer season inward flow of water from the sea happens that's not caused by less water flow from Pamba (the river which joins Vembanad in the south), it is as a result of less flow of water from the Periyar river and due to high tides.

Coconut in south is like fish in ocean. Coconut is used everywhere in southern india as cooking oil, hair oil, chutney and in many things. But i would say if u are living out of india then u definitely need sambar masala to prepare sambar because expression dekh lag nai rha accha bana hoga🤣

Boathouses ideally do a 10 to 15 km circuit, where they have several stops...It is docked at night and doesn't travel... This seems like a mid range boat... Boathouses can be booked as per the facilities onboard ranging from rs.8000 to Rs.40,000 ( Premium class ) for 24 hrs ( Food and beverage included )

Ya I visited twice, ye 11.30 am se shuru hoti hai.......till next day 11.00 am tak... almost 23; hours ...and it will rum continuously pata hi nahi chalta kitne km gaye hai, ....and bahot se chote chote island milte hai, wahan break bhi milta hai, ek island pe 30-40 makan hote hai, it looks beautiful, wahan ke haar ghar mein single bost rehate hain,to travel for school or for groceries....their is no two wheeler nor autos, only single boat for transportation....in night, they stop at one island, wahan ek ghar wale se contract hota hai, wahan kinare pe rok ke usi ke ghar se electricity supply lete hai, for a/c and lighting till morning....then at 7 am against back to Alleppey...... Must visit in life, I pray God aap log jarror India aaye....🙏🙏,

Dear Anchors Please correct yourselves This is not a lake but backwaters in the hinterland which ultimately leads you to highseas. The water is a sea water having all characteristics of seawater. These boats normally travel upto 8 to 10 kms including little deep into sea if you so wish and pay for it. Otherwise the travel is limited to hinterland only. The views would be awesome including the rows of coconut trees all along the coast and roaring waves and its breeze
