11:32 - when you say you don't understand the song lol I don't think many viewers did, 'mammanar' is tamil word for father in law - since the girl's character in this is south indian it explains the choice of lyrics, while he's looking up to his potentional father in law :P

I think you missed the point at the end. More than insecurities, what they're trying to show is that dad always sacrifices to see their family smile. I think you missed the part, where they ordered chicken, and he served everyone but hardly had anything for himself. But he doesn't show it.

I'm pretty sure this episode was inspired by "to kill a mockingbird" when Atticus is forced by the town men to shoot down a mad dog and he does that in a single, long-distance shot and his children who used to consider him a weak man for being kind to people in general find out he used to be the best shooter in town.
