In experience all these factors affect fuel consumption: 1. Driving habits (slow acceleration and deceleration is key. Decelerate gently by light pedal instead of relieving foot altogether. fuel injection is cut in efi cars and your car will get maximum momentum ) 2. Engine Oil (Fully synthetic is superior. higher fuel average saves on single run of 7000-8000 km change interval) 3. Tyre Pressure (inflating will help lower consumption but not recommended. Keep close to 30 psi all the time. weekly check tyre pressure) 4. High Octane (already explained in video) 5. Clean Air Filter and spark plugs in every service. 6. Change gear oil if driven more than 40,000 km (most of us don't change at all). 7. Switch off car on signals (starting takes only 7 seconds of fuel in idling. Explained on Engineering Explained channel) 8. Use same engine oil every time. don't experiment much by changing brands. 9. Don't change lanes frequently (avoid overtaking lanes, they have most stop and go) 10. Keep 2000-2500 rpm at constant speed for best economy. Low rpm is not always better. (avoid 4-5th gear in city driving)

perfect explanation. I follow all these on my accord 2009 and my car gives me 23-24 mpg even though the estimated for my car is 21mpg max according to Honda. My formula : M1 golden full synthetic No jack rabbit starts tires always at 34 coasting to red lights & stops My car has 160k miles right now.

I don't agree with your point. He has missed so many things which can also improve your fuel economy. 1. Regular checking Tyres pressure 2. Plug cleaning, 3. cleaning air filter, 4. throttle body cleaning

I have used LiquiMoly 5w30 in Chevrolet Exclusive from day 1. The car still runs great with no oil consumption. It has over 250,000 kilometers. Fuel consumption is around 14 to 17 in city

Very good review based upon presenter's personal research. However I would add that Lead (Pb) itself don't contribute in Carbon deposits. The carbon deposits are product of unburned fuel but the presence of Pb in fuel leads to molten slag on pistons and rings and also choke the catalytic converter and destroy rings and pistons. So overall a very good review. Great effort.

This is so amazing, Pak wheels posting videos from unqualified people who are misguiding without any knowledge or validity of claims. Leaded or unleaded fuels are available in 92 RON ( super) all over the country. Hi Octane in 97 and is not recommended for all engine types.

I already saw a video of Pakwheels another gentleman said that it is not recommended to use HI-Octane in every car it is useful but it might not be useful for some cars for which he mentioned that check your owner`s manual. To bhai shell unleaded petrol dalwalete.. sab masle solve.. i did this in my grande for 6 years. Never used any fuel other than shell unleaded petrol and never used Hi Octane. End result : no problem ever faced in Cat converter or any fuel supply system.

It depends on the compression ratio. If its high then hi octane can be used otherwise avoid it on lower compression ratio engines.

I would like motorists to test and try themselves, I m only mentioning my personal experience that I tried all things for good fuel economy Corolla gli1.3 2015 and pkdm wagon R. No result. The last advise I read on a forum was to try fully synthetic engine oil with proper SAE API no(read car manual 0w-20 for wagon R). Used Amsoil fully synthetic and wow the fuel average became perfect. 1.3 gli 12km/l in city traffic. And don't use oil additives with it. Not required bcoz it's already best 2- thing is utmost important. Hardly any fuel station selling genuine fuel. So try around and stick to the one giving best economy and smooth acceleration without engine knocking. I use PSO station.

OP has mentioned valid points but only fuel does not solely adhere to fuel average. other major factors including Tire Pressure, Tire Size (OEM), Changing and cleaning air filter on intervals , avoiding hard Braking also contribute to good fuel average. Driving with light foot is always better but overtime if car is always driven on light foot then carbon deposits on piston heads and valves have seen to be significantly more than normally driven cars

I would like to draw your attention to the fact the LEADed fuel has not been marketed in Pakistan since year 2002 and all refineries are producing LEAD FREE petrol whether it is SUPER (RON 87+) OR HI OCTANE (RON 95) so your assertion that, REGULAR petrol is LEADED and HI OCTANE is UN LEADED, is not based on facts. Secondly, Hi Octane petrol is recommended in post 2010 models of vehicles. It is suggested that vehicle owners should follow instructions for use of FUEL and LUBRICANTS as given in their CAR MANUALS for durability and reliability of engines as only engine manufactures know what kind of fuel/lubricant is best for their engines.
