PAL NTSC Retro Console TV Signal Conversion

Are you in NTSC region with a PAL console or a vice versa? You are not alone. Before HDMIs and VGAs, there were TV airwaves with picture, color, and sound all mashed up together in different ways in different regions. A PAL console would not work on an NTSC TV because the TV is expecting a specific signal to decode all that information to display properly.
We no longer use these standards, but retro gaming community still have to deal with this. If you are trying to play a PAL system on a NTSC TV there are few options to make this work.

1. NTSC⇔PAL A/V Converter - If your console has Composite output this is all you need.

2. RF-A/V Converter - In conjunction with the adapter above if your console has only RF out. This box itself will not convert PAL-NTSC

3. RF-VGA Converter - Output is system-agnostic, use any screen with VGA input. Since VGA has no audio pin, either use the headphone jack or the built-in speaker on this converter. Besides RF there seems to be A/V input as well.

4. RF-HDMI Converter - Not tested by myself. I do not want to add further lag. There are videos testing this or similar converters.

5. Multisystem TVs - Check your local marketplace and/or thrift stores for older LCD TVs. Search for the model's manual online, it can tell you if it supports PAL/NTSC.
Couple models I came across in the US:
* Sharp Aquos LC20B2UA (the one in the video)
* Some Hannspree T153 models (e.g. ST02-15U1 NOT 15A1 - I believe U=Universal A=Americas)
Please note that these conversions are for video only. I.e. If there are any region lock mechanisms in place for the console, that's a completely different problem to solve.
About TV Standards:
NTSC: North American standard. 525 Lines/60Hz
NTSC-J: This Japanese variation differs in brightness. I read that you just need to turn on the brightness on your regular NTSC TV, and you should be good to go.
PAL-N: If you have a console from Argentina, Paraguay or Uruguay they might be using this. 625 Lines/50Hz.
PAL-M: Brazilian PAL. 525 Lines/60Hz.
PAL-B/G: European PAL. Also used in South Asia, Australia, New Zealand. 625 Lines/50Hz.
PAL-I: UK, Ireland, Hong Kong, South Africa, and Macau. 625 Lines/50Hz.
PAL-D/K: Eastern Europe and China. 625 Lines/50Hz.
SECAM: France and Russia. Usually there is no SECAM-specific devices AFAIK, PAL machines are usually PAL/SECAM
Some standards seem to have similar specs but they usually have differences in other areas e.g. the color or the sound.

Oh, I did not know that. I assume it is to gain extra CPU cycles? C64 and some other 8-bit machines I believe use this technique as well.
