I suppose I am in the minority here but having played all the specs of paladin in both classic and tbc I really don't like all the drastic changes made to the class. It doesn't feel like a paladin anymore to me

@@legendarydragoon1462 I never played Classic, but i don't feel that way, they're a badass plate using sword swinging, spell slinger with afinity for healing and holy damage but suffers in the mana management dept or would be OP af. Very standard Paladin mode imo.

there was also a 'protheal' spec in 3.1 or 3.2, stamina was giving spellpower for prot palas, so healers stacked stamina and were almost immortal in pvp

I played all three specs all throughout WOTLK and I SUCKED back then. Still cleared all the content, topped healing and dps charts. Tanked like a god. I thought I was SOOOOOOOO good. My ego was immense. Its only now that I'm looking back that I realize that I was complete trash and was carried by my insanely overpowered class.

Seal of blood... I was sad when it was removed. But then happy again when devine storm was buffed making me both top dps and heal in a fight with a lot of aoe :)

Paladins were so op back in the day a ret paladin could almost one shot any class. In 2 seconds they put out the same damage all the other classes having to spend 15 seconds doing. They pilled on so many holy procs so fast they fixed them quick. There was no resist to holy damage at that moment, it made it worse. Even after that they were at the top of the dps charts towards the end of the expansion. Very strong class from beginning to end. Havent even gotten to them tanking or healing yet.

I started playing Wow during the final days of Vanilla. I picked Paladin! and Played it all the way until I quit during Cata. I then picked it up later in WOD, but didn't like it. When I went back to classic recently, I started again as a paladin (holy of course). I have not regretted it even though it is terrible to play (slow slow). I am so looking forward to WoTLK!

I was a ret main in early wow, only getting to max level at the end of TBC. When Wrath came shortly after and rets became insanely powerful, I was having the time of my life. As content went on though and ret just kept getting nerfs after nerfs, I eventually got fed up and tried out tanking and healing (I was a young teen back then and had only cared about doing damage up until that point). Now 14 years later, I wonder if I will enjoy playing ret again in Wrath Classic since I mostly had bad memories about it and didn't play much of it in the version that it's going to be in. I feel like I really should because I know this is the time period where paladin as a whole was super powerful even after nerfs, but idk.

I was a Ret main through all of WotLK and it has probably never been more powerful than it was back then. Especially at launch, the only class that could really touch you in PVP was the similarly over-tuned death knight, and my 18 year old clicking and keyboard turning self was able to easily top raid charts. I remember when they first made exorcism usable on players before it was nerfed, and it made for some hilarious 1-shot sequences, especially in low level battlegrounds.

I’m excited for the change, twisting is fun but just feels inconsistent after playing beta a bit. Having the difference of a 2k or 3k parse based on seal of command proccing has always felt bad, when I pink parse on my SWP main it feels like I simply won the twist lottery for that week.

It wasn’t a huge deal but I solo healed the second boss of vault of arch in a 10 man. I didn’t know until we cleared it when the raid leader and another member messaged me and sent me some gold because they were impressed no one in the raid died. There was a shaman that was supposed to heal but he was enhance. I did notice I was low on mana and I was having to heal every member of the raid but it felt so standard to me. Made me loving healing so much

Same thing happened in 25m Heroic ICC with my shaman. I was spirit stacked for raid healing, our other two healers were a married couple and their internet went out mid raid. We ended up clearing it with just me and on occasion a balance druid helping out if I had to focus on the tanks. Shit was wild.

What about the range of holyshock? Its downright important that the healingrange of this spell is now the same as every other heal... i remember not being in shock range for saving non tanking raidmembers

Range changes as well in WotLK, 40 yards like all other heals for healing and 20 yards for dealing damage. On beta though it is only 20 yards.

Watching this as a 10-year-long WotLK pala main, I must say I am impressed you got so many things right! All I can add is replace Glyph of Exorcism for Glyph of Consecration for PvE after 2T10 and know that you are capable of doing great damage (though not the best), but it's gonna cost you your hands and wrists. Don't expect to reach full dps potential if you are just lazily pressing buttons as they come off cooldown (especially after 2T10, which truly is a gamechanger).

Ill never forget in og wrath when rank 1 shield of righteousness and rank 2 were on seperate cooldowns. Not only was your threat literally untouchable, you also out dps’d half the raid 😂 im looking forward to ret this time around though. Was prot/holy back in the day (almost always prot) and never really specced ret. Ever. Nor did anyone else on my server lol. Not at the endgame 284ilvl RSHC items...ret pally with BiS is around 4th-5th DPs after warr, rogue, feral and mage, sometimes good unholy DK... depending on boss and if boss has aoe elements like ghouls, Valkyrs etc as LK does, and of course movement during the fight. i don't remember retail, but at least on warmane that is wotlk server many years it's like that.

I swapped from elemental shaman in TBC to a protection paladin. I honestly was not aware just how god mode they really are. I created one during Wrath and though she was patches behind everyone else, since my main was a priest, I never got the impression they were overpowered. Perhaps because I didn’t play one during TBC and therefore didn’t see the power increase first hand. Well, I guess now I will.

Every spec was WANTED Holy: a literal must have in any serious raid Protection: the king of tanks, nothing beats it Retribution: It is up there with the strongest DPS, especially when they get their hands on shadowmourne So much utility and the best buffs in game It is THE best class in the game in wrath, no question about it.
