Well if you're righteous and say that you're righteous, you're arrogant and prideful. If you're righteous and say you're not righteous, you're full of self doubt and insecurity. Both are paths to Heresy and Corruption, both must be purged before they can reach their inevitable conclusion. I'd say your best bet is to pull a Joan of Arc who, when a religious leader attempted to trap her by asking if she believed that she had God's grace (the idea being that if she said "yes" then she was making a heretical claim since normal people weren't allowed to decide that and if she said "No" then she had allowed herself to be raised as a false prophet) answered (some paraphrasing here): "If I stand in God's Grace I believe that He will help me to stay there and if I do not stand in God's Grace then I believe that He will guide me to it."

Well it was the grey knight terminators and paladins that killed/banished Angron from Armagedon during the first great war. It killed most of them, but they did beat him and the eight greater deamons that was his bodyguard.

Thank you for seeing the Grey Knights in their rightful place as equals to the Custodians. I think all too often people forget, that while the Emperor personally crafted the Custodians, the Grey Knights have a part of him that no other warrior can boast of, the very genetic and spiritual essence of the god of mankind. I do find the lore point that the grey knights are of the Emperor to be curious... I mean the primarchs are of the Emperor... But it's best not to think too hard about the gene-fluff and instead enjoy the magnificent absurdity of words like "gene-looms" 😁

The surviving knights errant that malcador had garro recruit like Loken would essentially become the first grandmasters of the GKs. They would all receive new geneseed from the emperor himself, giving or enhancing their psychic abilities. The rest were fresh recruits
