Your hubby has great spraying technique-long even strokes that stop just past the edge! Thanks for showing top notch technique!

Literally my first thought was: that fits with the Barbie movie 😅 It is very pretty, though. I would call it a 'soft neutral' color. Not as stark as black or white but will go with almost everything and looks feminine in a timeless, classy way.

I’ve used your mixture with fabulous results. For color correction i had a few Waverley chalk paints on hand and added small amounts to get to the shade i wanted. This cured beautifully even with a couple top coats (I was doing a coffee table so needed extra protection). I also used with the Caviar color which lightened the black to a deep charcoal which was beautiful. I only used a brush and had a very smooth finish.

Those HF guns are awesome! Nice to see someone who knows how to spray. And you’re right about the air compressor. You need a big one to get a nice and even spray.

In previous videos you mentioned black and dark blue do not work well with this. You could try adding lamp black to your primer. No I have not done this. Just a possible help for darker colors. It is an almost dust powder we used to rub on our stained glass lead to to turn the lead cane black.

First, thank you so much for your videos. This channel has helped me SO much more than any other! I have a question, though. I'm refinishing a coffee table (for personal use), and I want a high-gloss, lacquer-like finish. Am I better off using the Ovation satin, rather than glossy enamel, for the color and achieving the gloss with the clear coat at the end? Thank you for your help!

Really enjoy your videos. So you can paint directly onto the old finished surface like varnish or stain? And the layers of paint you add won't chip off easily? Would have thought you would need to sand back to bare wood?

As far as durability and smoothness for a kitchen, would you recommend BM Advance, Valspar Cabinet, or your one-step paint recipe with Ovation? I'm not concerned about price, I just don't want it to chip or scratch.
@blacksheephouse

If price doesn’t matter I would actually use Deco Art satin enamel 🤫 this is my secret favorite paint for durability, don’t tell anyone! Test it out and you will be amazed. Second fav for durability recommendation would be valspar furniture and cabinet enamel

Love your videos. Can you give me an ideas for my antique Mahagany stained dresser. I’m sick of it! I’m keeping it & have been priming with Bins shellac, ugh! How can I send you a photo?

Did you ever try adding Fletrol to your paint before spraying it? I'm just curious, because I like the idea of water (water is cheaper).

I know when the coat of paint is thick the roller makes a sound when you are spreading the paint ,and when you are smothering out the roller makes no sound., you are not pressing the roller down any more .That is when I know that the finish will be smooth.😅😅😅😂😊Thank you!

Just curious, why r u using caulk instead of wood filler? Caulk is only a short time fix since it shrinks, mildews and cracks. Plus it has that weird semi soft squish to it that can leave marks in it.
@blacksheephouse
@blacksheephouse Жыл бұрын
Such a tiny crack so just not worth all the extra hassle, usually would do wood filler if I caught it earlier
