These 2 hosts open with saying they're only recently and vaguely acquainted with both Morris' work and the topic of 1948... and then go on to constantly interrupt and contradict a world-renowned historian on the topic when he alludes to things they don't like. How embarrassing.

Yeah, these two guys should just sit down, shut up and ask thoughtful questions without interrupting. They are trying to talk like it’s a first date with a girl they are trying to impress, and failing. If you don’t know what you’re talking about, just shut up. So annoying watching this crap.

Really great talk, the dude in the black though (on the right) was quite distracting though, he seemed to always interject mid-convo with subtle underlying motivation to push the professor/author into a biased view. Was this supposed to be a subjective talk or him solely talking about history?

18:00 Benny Morris lied, Arafat did not turn down the two state solution he just did not accept to abandon east Jerusalem which was illegally occupied during the 1967 war, I mean I respect Benny but that one was a clear lie!

dumb decision. Arafat would have become the Arab Rabin - the Jihadis would have killed him if he accepted an Israeli State. He chose to play both sides against the middle and make billions of $ - Simple.

Benny makes the statement the Arab leadership did not encourage Arabs to leave, and then gives a number of examples of Arabs doing just that.

Before Benny was a historian the way the story was told was in such a way that all of the displaced people were said to have left either of their own accord or because Arab leaders told them to. That is what he was calling a myth. One of the reasons he is a famous historian is because he brought to light documents and histories which showed that the old narrative was false and that Israel actually did at times force some people to leave

@brianmacadam4793 Benny gave the examples to show that the general myth had a core of truth. These examples were the exception, not the rule; but, such exceptions begat myth. So the original generally applied Israeli narrative was false, but that does NOT lead to the Arab narrative, that a generally applied ethnic cleansing was the rule

@@eddienoragong402 I don't know that many conclusions can be made from the available data regarding Israeli actions.. I don't look at the last 50 years of the war zone would say "ethnic cleansing". At the same time there is AMPLE evidence of Arab governments across the region performing cleansing AND genocide of Jews, Christians, Coptics,... If you're concerned about government actions think about Assad in Syria, or Iranian leadership actions.

@@taylorbarrett384 according to the numbers about 10-15% were actively expelled, the rest indeed fled so I'm not sure why that wasn't mentioned
