Palestinian Jews and Arabs both were indigenous. But the Arabs were intolerant of Jews immigrating to the region. They attacked the Jews in 1936 and 1929 and on many other occasions. So, you do the math. Figure out how to contortl yourself into a position where you can believe this guy. The Arabs were the first "Jews will not replace us" crowd. The reason people like this guy talk the way he does is because people like you call him brilliant and a man of integrity and all that. People can get addicted to that sort of flattery. It's way more comfortable than being called evil Zionist p*g and whatever else smack talk you spew.

What just really horrorize me is when he talks here about the thermonuclear warheads that israel possesses, many doesn't understands it, but I say that because I watched the first strike documentary film and maybe the USA could not retaliate on case of a nuclear attack coming from Russia. But what the hell Russia has to do here? well for the me the war in Ukraine is the very probable prologue of the war in Europe and i invite you to watch this old documentary film, even Russia being not so powerful as the Soviet Union still could be able to knock out the USAF strategic command, and if NATO forces get isolated then Russian could be unstoppable in Europe and well the russians has not the power to counterweight effectively in middle east but, if Russia is really able to knock out the USAF strategic command then Israel must face by himself the Arabs, and Israel is unable to survive without the USA. So maybe the far right will want to look for his nuclear weapons without understanding that this radiation will affect israel very seriously too

@@abdoulsalammohamed6001 4:24 From a post by Michael Davison: "The existence of these refugees is a direct result of the Arab States' opposition to the partition plan and the reconstitution of the State of Israel. The Arab states adopted this policy unanimously and the responsibility of its results, therefore is theirs; ...The flight of Arabs from the territory allotted by the UN for the Jewish state began immediately after the General Assembly decision at the end of November 1947. This wave of emigration, which lasted several weeks, comprised some thirty thousand people, chiefly well-to-do-families." - Emil Ghoury, secretary of the Arab High Council, Lebanese daily Al-Telegraph, 6 Sept 1948. "The Arabs did not want to submit to a truce they rather preferred to abandon their homes, their belongings and everything they possessed in the world and leave the town. This is in fact what they did." - Jamal Husseini, Acting Chairman of the Palestine Arab Higher Committee, told to the United Nations Security Council, quoted in the UNSC Official Records (N. 62), April 23, 1948, p. 14. The Arab exodus from the villages was not caused by the actual battle, but by the exaggerated description spread by Arab leaders to incite them to fight the Jews" - Yunes Ahmed Assad, refugee from the town of Deir Yassin, in Al Urdun, April 9, 1953. The Arab States encouraged the Palestine Arabs to leave their homes temporarily in order to be out of the way of the Arab invasion armies. - Falastin (Jordanian newspaper), February 19, 1949. "It must not be forgotten that the Arab Higher Committee encouraged the refugees' flight from their homes in Jaffa, Haifa, and Jerusalem." - Near East Arabic Broadcasting Station, Cyprus, April 3, 1949. "Since 1948 it is we who demanded the return of refugees... while it is we who made them to leave... We brought disaster upon... Arab refugees, by inviting them and bringing pressure to bear upon them to leave... We have rendered them dispossessed... We have accustomed them to begging... We have participated in lowering their moral and social level... Then we exploited them in executing crimes of murder, arson, and throwing bombs upon... men, women and children - all this in service of political purposes..." - Khaled al Azm, Syria's Prime Minister after the 1948 war. "The refugees were confident that their absence would not last long, and that they would return within a week or two. Their leaders had promised them that the Arab armies would crush the 'Zionist gangs' very quickly and that there was no need for panic or fear of a long exile." - Monsignor George Hakim, Greek Catholic Bishop of Galilee, in the Beirut newspaper Sada al Janub, August 16, 1948. "As early as the first months of 1948 the Arab League issued orders exhorting the [Arab Palestinian] people to seek a temporary refuge in neighboring countries, later to return to their abodes in the wake of the victorious Arab armies and obtain their share of abandoned Jewish property." - bulletin of The Research Group for European Migration Problems, 1957. "This wholesale exodus was due partly to the belief of the Arabs, encouraged by the boasting of an unrealistic Arab press and the irresponsible utterances of some of the Arab leaders that it could be only a matter of some weeks before the Jews were defeated by the armies of the Arab States and the Palestinian Arabs enabled to re-enter and retake possession of their country." - Edward Atiyah (then Secretary of the Arab League Office in London) in “The Arabs” (London, 1955), p. 183. "The mass evacuation, prompted partly by fear, partly by order of Arab leaders, left the Arab quarter of Haifa a ghost city...By withdrawing Arab workers, their leaders hoped to paralyze Haifa." - Time Magazine, May 3, 1948, p. 25. "Every effort is being made by the Jews to persuade the Arab populace to stay and carry on with their normal lives, to get their shops and businesses open and to be assured that their lives and interests will be safe. [However] ...A large road convoy, escorted by [British] military . . . left Haifa for Beirut yesterday. . . . Evacuation by sea goes on steadily. ...[Two days later, the Jews were] still making every effort to persuade the Arab populace to remain and to settle back into their normal lives in the towns... [as for the Arabs,] another convoy left Tireh for Transjordan, and the evacuation by sea continues. The quays and harbor are still crowded with refugees and their household effects, all omitting no opportunity to get a place an one of the boats leaving Haifa." - Haifa District HQ of the British Police, April 26, 1948, quoted in Battleground by Samuel Katz. Even Mahmoud Abbas has published articles blaming the Arab League countries: “The Arab armies entered Palestine to protect the Palestinians from the Zionist tyranny, but instead they abandoned them, forced them to emigrate and to leave their homeland, imposed upon them a political and ideological blockade and threw them into prisons similar to the ghettos in which the Jews used to live in Eastern Europe. The Arab states succeeded in scattering the Palestinian people and in destroying their unity. They did not recognize them as a unified people until the states of the world did so, and this is regrettable.” - The Current President of the Palestinian authority- Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas), from the official journal of the PLO, Falastin el-Thawra (“What We Have Learned and What We Should Do”), Beirut, March 1976, reprinted in the Wall Street Journal, June 5,2003. Were there expulsions by Israel? Yes, there were some, mostly as the result of tactical situations rather than any coherent policy of mass expulsion. One example would be the expulsion of the armed irregulars in Lydda, who surrendered once, then picked up their arms and returned to fighting afterthe Israeli force moved on the Ramla, a town just down the road. After fierce fighting, the Arab irregulars surrendered a second time and were escorted to Latrun, which was under Jordanian control, to save the manpower that would have been needed to guard them as prisoners. Deir Yassin has been found to be a pitched battle by none other than a group of researchers from Bir Zeit University in 1988, when they published a monograph showing that: - The number of casualties was far less than half those initially claims (112 as opposed to 255). - There were no “rapes and murders of pregnant women”. - That the atrocities were the brainchild of Hussein Khalidi. There is no comparison. Also, most Americans consider what was done to our native population as horrific, and none deny the existence of the various nations that were here when Europeans arrived.

‘’Colonialism is not a machine capable of thinking or a body endowed with reason. It is naked violence, and only gives in when confronted with greater violence’’. Frantz Fanon- The Wretched Of Earth. So many colonial, imperial and apartheid political entities have established themselves in foreign lands throughout history only to witness different outcomes. The vast majority of them ultimately failed because they couldn’t establish roots necessary for their sustenance. Roman provinces in the Levant, the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem during the crusades, the many European posts in Africa, the European outposts in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Macao and the Spanish and Portuguese colonies in the new world are few just examples. The latest example is apartheid South Africa. The American example had a different outcome because of the overwhelming superiority of the occupier compared to the occupied. It is time for the occupiers of Palestine to realize this fact and spare us the anguish of this perpetual war what has been going on for a full century and acknowledge that God is not a real-estate agent. Delivering them from bondage of ancient Egypt to the Promised Land doesn’t mean taking land that belong to others. It is not what you know, it is what you could have known if you wanted to find out. Please search for the truth. It is very easy to find it and once you do, you will be liberated from all biases and prejudice. There was peace and security in Palestine until the Zionist European invaders stole the land from the natives. Advice them to go back to their countries and leave the poor people alone.

Thank you for your important conversation with Ilan Pappe. Love the way he dismantles common Hasbara talking points right off the bat. Example: “Israel won the war in 48 and so the Palestinians left.” I’ve heard this so many times…He points out that the ethnic cleansing started months before the war. Makes me want to pick up his book 10 Myths about Israel. Thanks again for your valuable guest and excellent questioning.

Great interview with Prof Pappe, as always! I very much appreciate the list of false assumptions!! When people act like it’s rational to say that Jewish people should be allowed to kick people off their land because their distant ancestors lived there 2000 years ago, I ask them for their detailed plans of how they are giving their property back to people whose ancestors lived there 2000 years ago, or even 200 years ago. It’s such an absurd argument!

It sounds like he is describing a Hitler like process. It is so difficult to understand why a group so badly persecuted can turn around and do the same thing to another out of pure selfishness and greed. Humankind is very flawed!

I was married to a Zionist, and I noticed that the one constant theme in all of their religious observances was the perpetual victimhood of the Jew, and in their families the idea that they were superior to non Jews. I believe this combination of victimhood plus racial superiority creates the psycopathy that enables them to feel justified in treating non-Jews in the most horrific and barbaric ways, that are unimaginable to decent humans.

Could it be a variation of Stockholm Syndrome? Or the infection with the disease of National Psychosis? Whatever it is it feels like mental illness, a psychotic breakdown saying if I cant have what I want no one will have a thing. The illness doesn't excuse anything but cries out for treatment and control. So there.

A thing to remember is that the founders of Israel weren’t the victims of the Holocaust, those people would come as refugees later, they were participants in an ethnonationalist political project which-while it did arise in response to persecution, particularly in the Russian Empire-arose out of the very same European intellectual and political climate that other European ethnonationalist movements did, including the one from which the Nazis eventually would rise out of. The antisemitism in the Russian empire at the end of the 19th Century that Zionism arose in response to was of a very different political formation than the ethnonationalist one perpetrated by the Nazis, so at that time there was less of an association between that kind of nationalism and Jewish persecution than there is today.

To the host of this discussion ... you should minimize interruption, and one way to do that is to give questions beforehand to your interviewer. Sorry to say this, but this is a very important topic and there are few people like Ilan Pappè. I have noticed that you interrupt a lot also on other interviews.
@christhomas-asevado52129 ай бұрын
With respect to the host, he really should allow Prof Pappé to finish his thoughts. Too many interruptions are unnecessary. He did not add value with his interruptions. He could have waited. He has done the same in interviews with other guests. I simply stopped watching those broadcasts.

Israel declassified documents after 30 years, like many democratic countries do. That’ why do-called “new historians, including Pappe and Shlaim basked on it making BIG names for themselves. I”ve not heard of any”declassification” . And you, just ask yourself why Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon have never declassified any historical documents… Maybe because they are hiding damning evidence of their genocidal intensions towards Jews in Israel? Before making any accusations against the Jewish state of Israel, look in mirror and check : maybe you see there a bigot?

That’s why the so-called “new historians” like Pappe and Shlaim basked on it making themselves BIG names. I don’t know any “reclassification” that you are talking- probably again pro-Arab, antisemitic propaganda. But you just ask yourself, why Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon never declassified any historical documents at all? Maybe because their genocidal war against the Jewish state of Israel will be obvious to the world? It is you who “needn’t know anything else”, using your own parlance. I need to know, and I know many things. Maybe you should look in mirror and, as you say, “ask yourself one question”: “Do I see a bigot there?”

This man is a pinnacle of hope. That a person with the typical Israeli upbringing, fighting in the army, being brainwashed about the "evil arabs" and him being of the "chosen people", that he would surpass all that and listen to his heart, that he would risk his life, job, family and friends to tell the truth ❤ Much love and respect, Sir. May God protect you and your loved ones. Though I do feel sad to see him so aged, but it helps to know that he has through his books, lectures and intreviews raised entire generations of truth seekers

I would also ask Mr Pappe if he agrees with the zionist propaganda thar nazis killed six millions news, knowing that in 1906 the belgians under king Leopold II killed between five ans ten africans in Congo rich of strategic rubber. And finally, I would say that Israël would have not existed in Palestine without the help of Great-Britain and the Sykes-Picot treaty with France in 1916 ans the Balfour declaration to establish a jewish entity in Palestine in 1917 !!!

You are right the history of this situation goes back far beyond 1948 when the name of the State of Israel went on the map. Long range planning. Its a bit terrifying when you look at it and once you bring the subject up it is hard to move on to the next question. It would be good to have complete program with someone with the knowledge, integrity like Prof Pappe answering your questions. Many people ask those questions and there are less reputable teachers about who will exploit those questions to beat a drum for their racist or nazi or anti Semite ideologies.
