Palghar Shirgaon Beach & Shirgaon Fort | North Konkan | Maharashtra Tourism.
The waters of Arabian Sea on the west coast of India have given rise to a number of beaches. Shirgoan Beach is one such water body which serves as a major fishing ground in Maharashtra. Located in Palghar town in Thane district, Shirgoan is known as Fisherman’s Village, fishing being the main occupation. The nearby area is abundant in palm trees and a famous attraction is Shirgoan Fort. It was under the reign of Shivaji Maharaj and shows strong impressions of Maratha rule.
You can find the Shirgoan Fort, lots of palm trees, and lots of fishes. It is known as the fishermans village. I would recommend people to visit this place.Not so crowded.
Clean beach with less crowd but less facilities
This beach was very clean & serene and with only few people. It is an extremely long beach with Kelva Beach on one side and Satpati on the other. There were few snacks shops. We reached in evening and enjoyed sunset. No change room etc is available near to beach. Please be caution and do not take your four wheeler in sand, it may be risky as we seen a car was not able to come out of sand. Palghar is the Railways station at approx 8 kms away.
Palghar is the nearest railway station. Auto rickshaw are available on sharing basis from palghar station. Beach is clean with mixture of white and black sand. Few small shops are there near beach which offer snacks and beverages.
Horse ride also available.
