One more trick that I don't see many people mention is you can press "K" to bring up camera mode which allows you to zoom in and scan the map for flow trees quickly.

I just spent 90 minutes day and night on 6 servers all over this area and not 1 tree. My luck can't be that bad.

if you clear a large area of trees out, when they respawn there is a chance for them to be flow trees. I got 38 logs in around 30 minutes yesterday doing this

I've read that the use of fireworks is a popular way to signal that one has found a flow tree. You can buy them from the register in the sewers at night. Unfortunately I also read that the spawn rate was significantly nerfed last patch.

Thanks for the video I've been on the struggle bus with some of this stuff... Do you have any tips on how to get silk or 1 star chapaa meat?

For silk it's easier just to buy it than hunt bugs. If you mean silk thread, then as you mine iron at night, the purple bugs that come out will have it. For the quality chappa meat, I just kill al chappas I see and eventually get one. You can hunt the rarer ones at Bahari bay but the normal Chappas can drop quality meat if you kill enough of 'em.

can you use dousing rod to find the trees?

Hey Benji! Dousing rods can locate flow trees. There is a problem though. It shows 100x the glowshrooms and heatroots. Makes it not worth using the dousing rod if your purpose is finding flow trees. Server hopping is the fastest method like you mentioned.
