Palinthuvo by flute exponent N Ramani is from the Vadya Sangamam collection of Carnatic instrumental music. Born in Tiruvarur with its rich musical traditions, Ramani had his early lessons from his maternal grandfather Azhiyur Narayanasami Iyer and then went on to perfect his technique under the legendary T R Mahalingam. Ramani’s performances were known for their tonal purity and blowing quality and he has played alongside greats such as Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhat and Mandolin U Shrinivas.
