You are correct on the forks on front of your loader as they extend out so far and overtax my hydraulics when lifting heavy items. I have been looking for a rear 3pt pallet fork like this for that reason. Nice clip and explanation

Thank you. I am very happy with them and they are a great workhorse around the property.

I have a bigger tractor and the clamp on forks. Don’t like them much because of their poor lift capacity.

Those are neat! Never seen those here in the US. I have quick change pallet forks for my bucket but would like some of these as well. These make a lot of sense for small tractors since your rear will lift much more than your loader will.
@HomesteadingUncontained2 жыл бұрын
They are useful for the heavier loads - but I am now looking for the front attachment forks (in place of the bucket) so I can manoeuvre things a little easier..... I need it all 🤣

I have a set of forks that clamp on the bucket . I welded on some tabs on an old tool carrier so the forks could be clamped to the 3 point hitch. The forks came from northern tool as I remember. They are very useful!

You can make a box out of a pallet and carry EVERYTHING you need. Load it with heavy things and make a counterweight for heavy loads in the bucket. Good luck
@HomesteadingUncontained Жыл бұрын
It is a handy bit of kit. Thinking of fabricating something that will allow it to be mounted to the front.

@@HomesteadingUncontained I have a Kobota BX25 2012 with a pin-on bucket. I'm going to convert it to a skid steer style quick change so I can have good forks. I have the slip on style and they are sort of third rate. Good luck.

A quick hitch will get you out a little further also make sure your lower link turnbuckle are tight or else they can sway especially on slopes and cut those rice tire knobbies.
@HomesteadingUncontained Жыл бұрын
I would like one of those, I will have to do a search to see if I can get one locally.

Also look up a "three point scissor jack." At least that's what they are called here in the states. It just about triples the lift height capacity of the three point . Great if and when you want to load something on or off a truck etc...

I just did and I want one. Such a simple idea but looks to work great. Thanks for the tip 👍🏻

You guys have so many options in the US. This is one of the few companies here in France selling this small tractor stuff - you will have some alternatives there for sure.
@kennethwestervelt2843 Жыл бұрын
It looks like you have your top link in the wrong hole as you should be able to lift and keep your forks level. I have been looking for a lightweight fork solution for a Garden Tractor and I really like the setup you shared as with a John Deere 420 garden tractor In am limited to about 800 pounds max lift. Your setup can probably be made at a weight of 100 to 150 pounds leaving say 650 to 700 pounds of lift. Ideal for putting a snowblower, rototiller etc on a small skid and moving it! I wouldn’t need it as rugged as your setup with those weight limits too.

It is just a bit of trial and error trying to get it to rise evenly as my rear 3 point does not have adjustment (other than manual on the top bar). It works really well getting stuff shifted around site.
@Pinzpilot1012 жыл бұрын
For me......I favour the front forks.......Like you say it won't lift and really heavy things.....but say lifting a heavy sand blaster, some bars of angle iron for a project.....a multitude of things....I actually made something out of old wood and might think of making my own from some angle iron left over from a project.

I am trying to get a set of front forks for my loader - it is difficult. But I think they would be better for the upcoming build.

@@HomesteadingUncontained I,ll talk to my local small tractor seller.....If they don't sell them or indent to, I will have a winter project making some up out of old metal. I like the way JCB have their pallet forks attached. They can swing them up and over when not in use.....I might have a go at something like that.....my forks will not be for heavy stuff...just help with lifting heavier items around the farm and making my life easier.

i would not advice those bucket clamp forks.. i have a tractor who does 600kg in the frontloader, and 1600 in the 3point and my bigger one does 1000 kg in the frontloader and 2400kg in 3point a frontloader on tractors is for light work.. you cant compare it to a bucket/ front loader machine those do way more in the front

I don't like them on the front, I have a mini skid with proper forks now so it is much better.

@@HomesteadingUncontained i have a forklift mast in the 3point attachment.. that also is a great tool must say
@edsmith44143 жыл бұрын
Those are NOT forks. They are two pcs of channel steel. You'll find out the difference one day when you manage to hook one under something, and not the other, and lift up....it will bend. Fork steel is a very high strength steel that is almost impossible to bend with normal tractor hydraulics. The other issue is whatever you pick up has to be right on the ground level...pick up the lift slightly, and the Not-Fork tip elevate a LOT....there is no "roll" on a back lift....it's lift only. So say you want to pick up, or set down, something waist high...almost can't do it. THIS is why front forks make a whole lot more sense. Believe me....I KNOW all the issues of back forks, as my first tractor didn't have a front loader and I made do with them for many years. Looking back, I should have gotten a bigger tractor sooner. And the $129 bolt-on-the-bucket forks ? I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy....ahahahhaa
@HomesteadingUncontained3 жыл бұрын
Totally understand, but these "forks" are limited to 300kg which is pretty good as I don't think my little tractor would cope with much more. Exactly right on the tilt, I had to put a grass cutter in my van and it was a pain - used the top bar to manually adjust the tilt. They will work for what I need them for and if I could get some reasonably priced front forks I would - but not readily available here for a compact tractor. Good comments, thanks. 👍🏻
