@@lindathomas8111. I have stage 4 non small cell lung cancer Adenocarcinoma. I have no pain meds why 🥶.. how fast does it take for this cancer to metastasized to the brain or another Oregon how long does it take? ITS IN UPPER LEFT LOBE , BOTH LOWER LOBES. AND AM I SICK OR NOT SICK UNTIL IT Metastasize. Could I die from what I have now. Or does it get deadly when it metastasize. How long do I get to live no one will answer me. I’ve been on KZbin for 3 months. And not 1 person will tell me or talk to me

@@godschild3640 did your Oncologist refer you for palliative care? Ask/insist for a referral. Palliative doctors are very knowledgeable about pain management; your palliative care Dr can help coordinate your medical care and referrals. Your onc can also refer you to a pain management clinic. However being stage 4 you may prefer palliative care. The doctors may be forbidden to give you a time stamp. My former onc gave me a time stamp and she got in trouble with her supervisor. I wish you the best in life & health.

My daughter is a palliative care doctor, Spr (specialist registrar), here in Dublin Ireland, I cant think of more noble, rewarding work than helping someone leave this world peacefully and help their family through that too. Palliative care and hospice care are intertwined and patient specific (I also work with cancer patients, though not medical). These people are amazing, compassionate people...and I'm not biased at all🤣

OT has a different holistic philosophy toward healing and practically at the same time. It taught me how to bend, fold my clothing etc with least discomfort to my body. I actually prefer OT over PT.

😢 an aged arthritic body is cripplingly painful. People just think of arthritis as a 'word' that old ppl hobble around about. Aging is tough on the body mind and spirit; and takes much courage and inner strength.

I wonder if she qualifies for Palliative care? LMK. Geriatric doctors specialize in older adult health and challenges.

Palliative care is also called comfort care for pain and symptom management. You can still receive life-prolonging medication for the disease. Palliative care can include mental health support as well as physical. Hospice care also provides comfort but only begins after stopping treatment for the disease and wants comfort only treatment. @@lindathomas8111 has done nothing for me. Still physically and mentally exhausted from multiple chronic illness. Fatigue, stress, anxiety, depression, weakness. It’s all psychiatric, psychological, and support from social worker. Just speaking from my experience.

Zack, I'm sorry ur experience with palliative care was negative. Conversely, I am a caregiver for my mother who is 67, my grandmother, 84 and my grandfather, 87 yrs young are all on Palliative care and it has significantly changed not only their quality of life but also the quantity of life, by extending their lifespan for almost ten years already. I'm also a medical professional with almost 25 years of experience in trauma/ER and acute care hospitals. Part of my job was to refer patients to our palliative care team, WHEN it was time to have that discussion. WHEN is the operative word here. That said, perhaps my loved ones have a little advantage. Idk for sure. BUT.... What I do know is that we should always carry an empathic, loving, and gentle PALLIATIVE CARE TEAM in our back pocket. Take care my friend, of urself AND one-another IF ur able. ❤
