I am grateful for this! My mother showed me how to do this years ago, and I could not recall how to get it started. I do want to post a reminder that blessed palms are SACRAMENTALS and no part of it should ever be thrown away to go in a landfill--the leftover pieces can be burned or buried.

I am so happy you gave this instruction in clear easy to follow directions. Starting is the tough-art and I now mastered it! My Dad taught this to me as I child. Thanks again.

Bless you! My mother used to do this when I was a child and in her memory I have been trying to do it for years but never came right. Now that I did it, thanks to you, it is next to my mom's picture in my bedroom.

So, in essence, you're weaving counter clockwise, then clock wise, then counter clockwise again until you get to the end. This method makes better sense than the last tutorial on the palm beehive I saw.

Great explanation! I have always had a difficult time starting this one plus they are very few palm fronds that are 4 together. I like the way you knotted them! I was told this is called the Temple Steps by my mother. But I like the beehive also!

When you get the palm from church, and you want to keep it fresh to do this the next day, get a plastic trash bag and put some water in it, like two tablespoons, put the palm in, and put it in the refrigerator. The palm will stay like new for a couple of days in the plastic bag with the water in the refrigerator.
