Palm Springs Aerial Tramway in the Winter

The Palm Springs Aerial Tram is an easy day trip during any season, but winter is especially magical. Travel in the worlds largest rotating aerial tramway climb from dry desert to a forested winter wonderland in just 10 minutes. Being from Shreveport, LA, this was quite a treat. I went there in the summer of about '93 or '94 with a friend of mine on a self directed trip to Calif.. We even saw some wildlife up there and on the way up in the form of squirrels and the like. The view from the top is just beautiful. You can see the whole Coachella Valley. I'd do it again easily.

There is a place called “On the Mark” in Palm Springs that make great charcuterie plates. Tell them to wrap it, bring it up the Tram during the Spring/Summer and eat it among the trees. Very pleasant.

Everything is expensive at the top incl food & souvenirs. The tickets are high too & should only be half the price.

Did you purchase the sleigh 🛷 or they have sleighs for rental?

They have sleighs to buy at the gift store but they do sell out depending on the time of day. They used to have rentals at the Adventure Center but it’s been closed for a long while. I brought my own sled, but funnily enough I bought the sled originally at the aerial tramway on a previous visit. I was excited to get to use it again. I’d try to bring your own if you can because it can be expensive getting one up top. Thanks so much for watching! I hope the info helps!

@@sunnie41 Sorry I'm getting to this comment so late. Yes, we brought our sled with us on the tram no problem. I felt pretty safe in the tram. There's slight swaying when you pass through a tower, but other than that the view is so awesome, you don't even think about it. If you already went, I hope you had the most amazing time!

No time limit once you're up there! :) And the tram leaves about every 15 minutes and you can hop on any tram to leave
