Sure do! At about 2:52 I mention rinsing with peroxide and water. After everything is finished, dry and set, my usual washing instructions are to wash inside out in cold water and hang dry only.

After painting on the t-shirt do you put any kind of sealant over it or just let it dry and do you use acrylic paint without medium
@karyfrancisco13832 жыл бұрын
It's not paint, it's fabric dye. There's no sealing required. The dye instructions vary between brands, the dye I use needs to be set with heat.

All the dyes i have instruct to use soda ash. im highly allergic to soda ash....... i didnt notice you used soda ash and wonder if its because the dye you use and if you could tell me what kind of dye it is so i can still continue to tie dye without using soda ash. sure lo

What’s your process for rinsing the shirt in water and peroxide.
@karyfrancisco13833 жыл бұрын
I used to just let it dry and dunk it in the sink with water and peroxide and hand to dry. Letting the bleach on the shirt dry first is super important though. I rushed rinsing at times and it made the bleach bleed and ruined the design. Now I let it dry overnight, and I have a spray bottle with water and peroxide, and once dry, I lightly saturate using the spray bottle. I like it much better than dunking in the sink. Does the trick neutralizing the bleach, and by spraying and not dunking you're less likely to ruin the design.

I printed too low on my tanks trying this out I can't figure out how to do a good cut out for the palm trees and my silhoutte is snagging the design so it usually comes out rough or too big. It probably doesn't help I didn't use full cotton either. I need help with this I got the dye etc

The stencil is made from Oracal 651 adhesive vinyl.

@Lovelhie Rose Lee it's permanent! But I've also used removable. Since it's not technically for fabric, it's doesn't matter much.

This states Bella canvas tee. Is that polyester?
@karyfrancisco13833 жыл бұрын
It's a blend. You can't bleach polyester, so the shirt has to have some cotton in it. I believe this one is the Black Heather, 90% cotton, 10% poly.
@Michelle_9_273 жыл бұрын
@@karyfrancisco1383 ok. That’s what I thought. I was worried there for a minute! I thought Bella only made polyester tees. I’m using all cotton. Love your design and instructions!

Does it matter what the fiber content cotton to polyester of shirt is ?
@karyfrancisco13833 жыл бұрын
I do not think so with this method. The more cotton, however, the more prone the fabric is to deteriorate from the bleach, so it's extra important to neutralize the bleach with peroxide before adding the color. Also worth noting that black shirts all bleach differently, I've had successes and failures with all combos of cotton/poly across several brands. A 50/50 of one brand can be vastly different than a 50/50 of another.
@DarceyRecords Жыл бұрын
This is really cool! But I checked out the dyes used and they’re terrible quality. I would recommend using a procion dye (I use Dharma Trading Co) as well as doing the proper shirt pre treatment to prevent the colors from fading. Also, be careful using bleach on reverse dyes like this one. It considerably weakens the fabric.

I have a question... the dyes that you use to spray on.....can you just mix up your own fiber reactive dyes and will it work the same?
@karyfrancisco13833 жыл бұрын
I don't know the answer that! I don't know about fiber reactive dyes. I would assume as long as you cure properly, any dye should work. The dye I used needs to be cured with heat, tulip dyes don't need that... etc etc, so I think as long as you follow those types of directions on your dyes, you should be fine.
