Reducing recoil is about staying on target and having faster follow-up shots, if you don't understand that, it's okay. Please note that I will in fact make fun of you a little bit if you post a condescending comment about AR already not having much recoil. With that being said, we do have more basic videos you may want to start with if you fall in that category.

I understand that and it doesn't change my opinion on the matter. If you properly handle an intermediate caliber rifle, it already doesn't move off target. The other improvements are fine, but the added concussion of a muzzle break is a net negative.
@ShizawnSanders21 сағат бұрын
@sultanofsick you can have a muzzle BRAKE and it not be a negative in any way other than cost. I have a Precision Armament EFAB on one of my rifles and it reduces flash just as well as a A2, gives off no more concussion than a A2 but is a effective BRAKE in that it reduces recoil and muzzle rise. Using true 5.56 loadings there definitely is some recoil and rise that can be mitigated especially when using mid length or shorter gas system and carbine buffer system. The age old saying of work smarter, not harder holds true here not to mention every shooting position isn't going to be the same under duress and anything that can help performance is welcome. Jerry Mikhalete, I know I butchered his name, is probably the best semi auto shooter in the world at putting fast accurate shots in great volumes buy even he uses BRAKES and other performance enhancements to achieve results. There is such things as force multipliers. I'm a decent but my SSA-E-X trigger, various muzzle BRAKES, adjustable gas block, custom speced gas tubes, A5 buffer system, JPC or Armaspec buffer system 90* short fore grip, K2+ grip, B5 grip, free floated rail ect for sure make me even better than a totally stock mil spec early 2000's build M4.

Great tips! A muzzle break is an almost absolute way to reduce recoil, just know that when you pull the trigger, everyone’s coffee will kick in. I would add, as a possible inexpensive option, to swap out to a braided buffer spring from Giessele. If you’re going to put in the effort to change gas blocks, take the extra step and switch barrels. Carbine length gas systems will cycle reliably, but a mid length would be more gentle on the recoil.
@timjames43172 күн бұрын
These tips are all great but the biggest thing you can do is to actually put the stock in your shoulder and get a good cheek weld. It's pretty popular to not do this today.

The Precision brake he shows off is insanely good at its job. I had it on a 20 inch Colt and the damn thing didnt budge even a little. I prefer flash hiders but it's definitely going to kill your recoil. I would advise against brakes on a fighting rifle unless you're using it as a silencer host, because giant fireballs don't help you avoid return fire.

Minor difference for the most part. I think the super short barrel craze gets most people in hot water when it comes to recoil. A 16" gun with mid length gas system and an h2 buffer is gonna feel like a bb gun compared to a 10.5" with carbine length gas. But then again it's all relative really

Rifle length gas system with rifle length buffer system is generally the softest shooting and then on down. Mid length gas/A5 buffer>Carbine gas/Carbine buffer>Pistol gas/pistol buffer. There can be exceptions. For instance some companies will open up their gas ports too much making a mid length worse than a Carbine. Adjustable gas system makes the biggest difference. For instance my short 30 cal rifles are both pistol gas systems with Carbine buffer systems but I have them on a H2 Armaspec buffer system and both are adjustable gas system and both have a brake. Even my 7.62x39 12" PWS Mk111 is pretty soft shooting for what it is and my 10.3" 300blk with the adjustable gas system shoots softer than many 16" 5.56 rifles.

My ar10 has basically no recoil now. I'm using it until I get my 30 cal can. The precision armorment brake is not friendly to anyone standing on to side/behind you. The B5 system does nothing more than the standard carbine buffer system (other than offer heavier weights for the buffer) which are not needed in a mid length or carbine gas system. The B5 system has less spring weight choices than a standard carbine system. The B5 system was created for a rifle length gas system, not a carbine gas system. The JP SCS offers more value than the B5.
