Palpatine is Alive He Won in Episode 9 - Star Wars Theory

In Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker, we got Palpatine rising to power then being defeated by Rey. In the movie, he tells Kylo Ren that he was every voice inside his head (Snoke, Vader, Sidious), so is it possible that the force ghosts Rey heard, were from Palpatine as well? This would cause her to believe she needed to fight back and kill him, and thus, fulfilling his prophecy.

With this theory: It could be that the Luke and Leia force ghosts are actually Luke and Leia (not produced by Palpatine), but that Luke and Leia don't know that the Sith have passed onto Rey. Episode 7: ok, nothing groundbreaking. Not amazing but I'm really interested to see where they go with it. Episode 8: They murder the character of Luke to the point even Mark Hamill said he had to think of it as a different character and "not his Luke" and made Poe look like an idiot and every bad choice they could make, they did. I am no longer interested in the unanswered questions for the next movie because every answer they gave in this one was unsatisfying at best and terrible at worst. Episode 9: Trying to undo enough of the dumpster fire that was episode 8 to make a somewhat acceptable ending. The plot holes and flaws in logic we are supposed to accept insults the intelligence and deep lore driven universe the fan base has analyzed every part of for years. Most of the videos analyze the prequel time frame because it's the big jedi time. A lot do the original trilogy because the tragedy of Vader vs the light of Luke and the great story telling. The reason why 7, 8, and 9 don't have that is because they don't really offer anything worth diving deeper in to. It's all shallow, plot holes, and poor story telling that can't really be analyzed and what can be analyzed the people don't want to because it's not satisfying to get in to like the previous movies

Isn't this theory a perfect reason for "short term" profits? They could bring back Palpatine *again* for a new trilogy through a loop hole. It would do disservice to the sequel trilogy and the original trilogy even more and but they could keep on making movies. Theory:Everyone seems to think that the balance in the force means that there are equal numbers of sith and jedi in the galaxy. This is ridiculous firstly because before the clone wars there were 10000 jedi aprox and 2 sith and secondly because the sith are the bad guys so why would we want them. Balance in the force creates peace. I believe this is because it is a balance between doing peaceful and agressive acts. Take for example the scene in ep 3 with palpatine mace windu and anikan. Palapatine represents the sith anikan the jedi and mace the balance. This is because mace is going to kill palapatine without a trial and anikan is saying it is not the jedi way ( i am aware he is only saying this as he needs palapatine to save padme but for the sake of my point lets just say anikan is a devoted jedi true to his beliefs) but if mace did kill palapatine he would have brought peace to the galaxy even if the act was more sith like than jedi like. The balance is where there is enough fighting and aggression from the jedi to the point where it prevents the evil sith from gaining power yet there is enough peaceful actions from the jedi to the point where there is peace in the galaxy. Anikan prevented mace from killing palapatine because it wasn't the jedi way but the jedi way gives room for the sith to gain that power while the balance ie mace destroys the threat. The balance is when ALL force users have a balance between sith traits and jedi traits to achieve peace not when there are equal numbers of each side. I don't know if this has directly been contradicted are supported in the words of someone like george Lucas but I feel it makes sense.

One thing I noted from your video was that he said John William's theme for the Emperor within Kylo and Rey's themes. I have watched multiple videos on the themes in Star Wars, more specifically in the last 3 moves. Now according to Sideways, another KZbinr who specializes in music, John Williams did this not to show a connection, but because the writers of the films had no idea what they were going to do next, and so he had to write the music such that it could work with whatever happened.

She didn't strike him down. She defended herself from him. He attacked first and she reflected the lightning. And it was necessary to kill him directly with a Lightsaber. She didn't do that. The emperor also wanted Luke to strike him down with anger. Luke didn't do it. Darth Vader killed the Emperor. But his ghost didn't go into Darth Vader. It's a Sith ritual that has to be done very correctly.

@@RamielDerLinke I have to respectfully disagree. My issue with this Sith ritual is ignoring the tragedy of Darth Plageuis. If we assume you have to kill someone with a lightsaber to complete this ritual, that means that Palpatine isn't the true heir to the Sith because he didn't strike Plageuis down in anger with a lightsaber. He killed him in his sleep - says so in ROTS. I agree with original comment - just because you killed someone out of self-defence doesn't mean you didn't kill them. That's why Vader had to kill the Emperor to redeem himself - any attempt by Luke to physically harm the Emperor would only have played into the Dark side. We see this when Dooku was executed by Anakin, who was initially fighting in self-defense. The Sith Ritual is Disney attempting to return to fantasy elements that have been fundamental to past Star Wars lore. Star Wars is a Space Fantasy, it isn't new introducing these lore concept. Except fandom have already spent several decades - thanks to Legends - deconstructing these types of errors in the long form narrative that is technically "The Journal of the Whills". Take for instance the prophecy of the chosen one. It's not just first introduced in the prequels, but Empire. Reinterpreting this fantasy element is not new. In the prequels, it was coupled with a sci-fi element of midi-chlorians. It can be read as a commentary on the folly of the Jedi's own hubris which brought about their destruction. They have mixed myth and science to rationalize their own sense of duty and authority. They were so consumed by this supposed prophecy, and created a whole culture around fulfilling this prophecy that it was inevitable to self-fulfill. They rationalized it so much to the extent of believing it would be in favour of their institution, and this prevented them from interpreting "balancing the force" meant wiping out the overrepresented Jedi. That's why Obi-Wan and Yoda don't believe in redeeming Vader in the OG trilogy - they instead insit Luke must destroy the Emperor and Vader. Anakin is the Chosen One, and if anything - the Sith Ritual was an attempt at reinterpreting the Chosen One prophecy from the view of the Sith. That one individual will balance the force - Rey has to have completed the ritual and absorbed all the Sith if they want this to work. Disney has Rey balance the Force, and internalize the power of all the Sith and all the Jedi. Reinterpreting rules that have been written across the generations of the Star Wars universe. Either Anakin is the Chosen One, or Rey is. Or maybe, just maybe the Chosen One is being rewritten into an "Avatar: The Last Airbender" esque narrative device that will allow them to make more trilogies? The Cosmic and the Living Force constantly ebbing and flowing by personifying themselves in physical entities well versed in the nature of the Force reincarnating across time.

I think people often misinterpret the whole "Chosen One" arc. It was always about redemption and the destruction of the Sith (even before the prequels). Lucas has been on record many times in interviews where he states he had to create the backstory even before creating the original Star Wars movie. So the intention was always there even if all the details weren't in place. The force was put out of balance with the rise of the Sith and their domination of the galaxy! The Chosen One was prophesied to bring balance to the force by destroying the Sith. Obiwan says as much after defeating Anakin. The Jedi as a whole misread the Prophecy as Yoda also claims in ROTS when speaking to Obiwan and Mace Windu in the Temple. They thought Anakin would destroy the Sith in their present timeline as a fellow Jedi. They didn't anticipate his downfall or predict his redemption. Eventially they thought Luke or Leia (more so the former) would be the one to destroy the Sith and as a result, still misinterpreting the prophecy. After Anakin was redeemed with the help of Luke, in that moment he not only destroyed the Emperor but also Darth Vader by turning back to the light and therefore ending the "Sith lineage and reign over the galaxy", therefore bringing the force back into balance! This was Lucas's idea behind it all. Everything that has come after regarding equal balance of light and dark is a reinterpretation of what Lucas originally intended with his 6 stories.

Great video man. Really puts a lot into perspective. Been a Star Wars fan since the original trilogy. And grew up reading the comics and novels and I know Palpatine has been perfecting not only his own force powers and his calculations but also perfecting his cloning techniques. Look at Attack of the Clones. Do you think that was coincidence? I don't. He was planning on using his cloning for himself. Same goes for the Grievous, the machine that surrounded Grievous was all prototypes for what he had planned for Anakin. There is so much philosophy, hypothesis' and theories that can be made from just the endless stories, Legends and Canon, alone. Palpatine's body was physically destroyed in Episode IX but his spirt should still be on Exegol or sealed by the Jedi. In Legends powerful Sith lords like Ajunta Pall, Freedon Nadd, and Exar Kun spirits still lived on thousands of years after their death. Palpatine's spirit in Dark Empire was sealed away by the soul of every Jedi since the founding of the Order. So the same could be the case in canon. Also, Snoke could be an imperfect clone of Plagueis.

I’ve been saying this since the movie came out. Rey didn’t have to kill Palp in anger like people say. He even tried to get her to kill him by saying if she did he could save the fleet. So even killing him to save others meant he won and got what he wanted That being said, if you try to make any sort of logical sense out of 7-9 you have to completely ignore everything episodes 1-6 set up because 7-9 is essentially one big retcon of the first 6 that completely undermines them in every way

Rey had to kill him out of anger and with open arms. The Jedi were with her as she looked into the stars, which in movies and shows are a sign of the past Jedi. Jedi that were with Rey and protected her, even the Jedi\Force theme played as she looked up to the sky. Plus Luke and Leia as spirits would know if these Sith spirits were in her. The Sith wouldnt lay dormant, they would try to live on instantly and if they were in Rey then it would change her appearance quickly. Plus Luke and Leia wouldn’t be smiling at the end of the movie
