Some tips: You can Dodge Roll. Various Pals are used to run different automation features of the base; you'll need a variety to some extent but don't be afraid to swap them out when they aren't needed constantly. For example, wood and stone are always needed but you don't necessarily need more than one miner/logger to keep up in the beginning. Further, the buildings to mine and log will not be auto-emptied into chests; you'll have to do that yourself. Same with collecting crafted items that Pals have made for you in a campfire/furnace/workbench. (Yes, fire pals can cook for you but you have to start the recipe and wait for them to do it)

Just an fyi the crafting stations pull directly from the storage boxes on your base!! In the PalBox you can check out your pals stats by selecting them and hitting F, they have special traits/personalities that can give buffs or debuffs. You can also see what there best at doing (i.e. mining, handicrafts, gathering etc.)

If you press B to build and press C after, you can destroy the workbench and get 100% of the ingredients.

Everyones playing this glorified Ark mod (it literally uses the same UI and the weight icon is from Ark) and asset flip. Its crazy.

The weight icon is your sticking point? Really? A wright icon comprised of a kettle block, one of the most generic symbols for weight in gaming? The UI is a generic UI provided by the Unreal Engine toolkit. Tabulated menus and action wheels aren't anything Ark invented. Now, I'm not saying this game isn't basically "Ark but Cute", but calling it an asset flip is disingenuous.
