I wouldn't be surprised if it was different because in the books she was turned when she was 19, yet the actress they cast for Pam doesn't look even close to 19 (though she still plays Pam wonderfully).

I got to see Nelsan act in person when I was a kid. He was on one of the local speech teams on the south side of Chicago (either Thornton or Thornridge, I can’t remember). When I saw him in the first episode of True Blood, I recognized him immediately.

Wow! That is so cool. I would've loved to meet him in person. He was an extremely gifted actor. Anytime I feel down and I need something to brighten up my day, I watch TB just so I can hear him, Pam, Eric, Jesus, Tara and so many others say ridiculous things and make me laugh. @glee4ever28 Eric is over 1000 years old, originating from Scandinavia. He was a viking Prince. Swedish is a decedent of Old Norse, which was the predominant language that was spoken in Scandinavia during the Viking Era, and he must have followed the language as it evolved into the modern day. As for Pam, she is only around 200 years old, from England, but since she is Eric's child, he must have taught her the language.

Thanks to this scene I got curious about Sweden (I assumed they are talking swedish because Alex is swedish) and I learned swedish language.3 years later I understood what they said and I can't be happier.
