I truly hope Pamela gets an Oscar nomination for her role. For Americans, the film is releasing on January 17, and it’s an incredible movie. She absolutely deserves it! Just imagine-she might appear at the Oscars without makeup as well. What a moment it would be to see a bare face celebrated on such a grand stage, a once-in-a-century experience.

Too much coffee, review After seeing the Pamela Anderson documentary on Netflix, I was horrified. She had a home movie on the internet, and spent a lifetime being treated badly with only makeup as armour, without the comraderie of women. In all those years, did feminists offer more than a sneer? I was intrigued by " The Last Showgirl." Now playing in Theaters. Shot in 18 days by a newer Coppola. Jamie Lee Curtis rtis costars. Myley Cyrus wrote a song for it. It's a simple story, simply told. Women's stories don't usually get this kind of attention. Humiliating jobs, consequences of believing cultural or work hype, your own dreams or staying where it's comfortable. Some times realization creeps up slowly or with the surprise of the sledgehammer of homelessness. The details of life without union protections, hit. The helplessness of seeing where a path leads and no clue of how to stop it. It's depressing, but it is also defiant...defiance. Girls dressed up for "Barbie", as status. But no one is wearing rhinestones and feathers this. Perhaps they should. Perhaps Bob Mackies showgirl costumes will be the uniform of women's circles to come? As women shed the hair dye, and face paint of drag queens to express feminity, who knows what will bloom in the sunset? Only a women owned company would offer this up with free tickets.
