Big drum will bite the cork? (I know they'll take topwater but I'd never heard this be a problem with cork).

Yes, some people even put hooks on the popping cork but i won’t because I don’t want to foul hook

What kind of line and poundage do you use for these reds?

Did you ever get an answer?

55-65lb braid

Lightest you wanna go is 30lb braid and 40-50lb mono leader. 4000-5000 reel on a medium heavy rod. You want to get these big fish up quickly so you don’t kill them. Don’t come out with a 2500 and fight them for 15+ minutes

What about using live shrimp or other live bait?
@CarolinaALLOUT6 жыл бұрын
Surely you could but there are usually other fish around the bait like blue fish and maybe a trout or two that would give you a headache rebating hook every cast.
