The price alone is a big turn off for me. I also worry that someone might try these thinking an easy way to start cloth diapering, hate the product, and then decide not to try cloth. Imagine thinking that Pampers is the way to go based on name recognition rather than a brand known for cloth. I am truly curious as to who these are even intended for since they are not saving money or helping the environment, you still have to wash them, and you don't much choice in print /color. Maybe they'd be okay for travel?
@jessisblessed66893 жыл бұрын
Liberty, I wish I could like this comment 100 times. Thank you for all the fantastic points. That's what I couldn't figure out. They neither save money nor do they help the Environment... so the only use would really be traveling or people innocently trying Cloth for the first time (based off of the trusted Pampers name). Your thoughts are my sentiment exactly.

I bought one to see if they were worth it, I don’t buy the disposable insert, I use the Charlie banana inserts because the diaper itself seems very similar to CB brand which I love because those fit my grand baby perfectly.

You are right on the money! I truly believe this is Pampers ploy to trick those on the fence and wanting to try cloth, into thinking it's terrible and give up on cloth entirely. I will be honest, I do a combo of cloth and disposable. My 2yo had so many issues with cloth that we now use disposable 90% with him. As a combo mom I see absolutely no point to these things. It's all the cons of both with none of the benefits.

So glad you reviewed these! It's basically a pocket with a disposable pad... And that price is insane!!!!

EXACTLY! 💯 I'm so grossed out by it, using that thing once was such a GLARING reminder to me how gross disposables are! :-/ Thank you for watching! 💓

I wish I would have done more research before getting these! I’ve used these for around 3 months before doing more research on cloth diapering. So my over all review on these after using them and other cloth diapers broken up into categories: 1.)PRICE- These are not cost effective they are way too expensive especially because they get absolutely ruined by the adhesive (which is impossible to clean) 2.)CONVENIENCE- okay so I was interested in cloth diapering but I was hesitant because it was extremely intimidating and it would be very hard to get my husband on board so my initial thought when I discovered these was that It was a easier less intimidating approach to dabbling in cloth diapers without fully commenting. The fact that the inserts were disposable was why my husband was on board with it. But at the time neither one of us knew this was essentially the gate way to cloth diapering. It made it less intimidating. After switching to cloth diapers and realizing that they were actually easier than these hybrid diapers was awesome! Every time you change a diaper you have to peel out the insert and take the paper off the new one and stick it on perfectly placed or you would for sure get a blowout or a leak and if your child is anything like mine (super impatient with diaper changes) its a challenge to say the least. So now Id say they are not at convenient! 3.)ABSORBENCY- I have a boy who is a heavy wetter and the nighttime inserts busted multiple times just a absolute mess! The regular inserts during the day would even leak even though I changed him so frequently. YOU CANT LAYER WITH THESE! 4.)LIFE SPAN- short lived due to the sticky residue mess that the adhesive from the inserts leave. (They will work with reusable inserts as a regular reusable diaper but after the sticky mess I wouldn’t want that on my baby) 5.) NOT ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY- If you are looking at these to be more eco friendly your just going to spend more money with just as much waste by how frequently you have to change these inserts.

Maybe send a few cloth inserts along with the disposable one for someone to try both out. If someone is already using disposables and wanting to try cloth this would give options

What on Earth were they thinking with this product? I agree with everything you say. they’ve completely missed the point of cloth.

Thank you for showing this product and educating new parents who may not be aware of how horrible this product is. There is no purpose for buying this system. You might as well just buy disposables or do traditional cloth. Total money grab by Pampers.
@ECpeesy3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for trying them so we don't feel tempted to! I think Pampers is offering this "hybrid" so that families who are interested in cloth diapers will continue purchasing disposable inserts. Plus you would need as many covers as diaper changes between washes. That would be quite expensive! As far as the design of the shell, I heard that Procter & Gamble (owner of Pampers) purchased Charlie Banana. So they are able to use Charlie Banana's design. You did a great job presenting this in an informative way to people who are new to cloth diapers. These are not cloth diapers. Keep spreading the cloth love. 💜 Heidi

I am currently on vacation. And I use cloth diapers in our hotel. You encouraged me to do this by the flats and handwashing challenge. And I am very happy with it. The only problem is the weather. It is raining all day everyday and the drying is almost impossible.

That is…horrible. I wonder if the cover would function like a regular pocket or if it would wick and leak? That’s a lot of wicking I can’t imagine it would do much better with a flat or insert.

They really put microfleece intending for people to use multiple inserts? This seems like someone who knew very little about CDing wants to try and eventually move to where Pampers sells both. They might need to just stay in their lane....🍵💁🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️😬

I would return the diapers and just give away something else for the giveaway. I 100% agree with you! It’s cheaper to just use disposables, if you are going to go through the hassle of washing the diapers just use cloth inserts and throw on a disposable liner for those who want less of a hassle (:

If you have the receipt, or even if you don't, go back to Target and return them. They will be sent back to the company and if enough people do that, they'll realize people don't like it. My issue with them is the price and you have to buy the inserts all the time - no go.
@jessisblessed66893 жыл бұрын
Yes, you and another Mama made that point. Yes, I have the receipt. I think their return policy is 90 days, so I should be fine. I did buy them a little while ago. (Intended to review them sooner, but time slipped away from me lol). You're right. The less people keep them and buy them the sooner Pampers will realize their ridiculous foray into Cloth Diapers is just that- ridiculous.

This looks so awful, I love that you don't sugar coat it! I think they are trying to trick people into thinking this is cloth and ultimately they will go to disposables. On the bright side, they seem like a decent pocket shell? And I would call them that, NOT a cover at all! Unfortunately these are in the stores and not big cloth brands, but thanks to people like you, more are learning about cloth online.

You have tu put the pad over the diaper on the inside, not under the fleece sheet. If you put it under, it's sure that the fleece soak all the pee. If you put it above, the fleece cannot soak the pee. So, that's a fault of your using. For the rest, i like it very much to use these. Only the adjusting system in the inside, is a little hard to makr it right.
@jessisblessed66892 жыл бұрын
At approximately 13 minutes in the video I show that I put the insert in the diaper, on top of the microfleece lining... I did not use the system wrong. I'm not sure if you watched the entire video, but I definitely understand how to use the diaper, I've reviewed Diapers for dozens of companies. Thank you for your input though! Have a nice day! 👍
@shanntayaguayo59202 жыл бұрын
First off, I have to say that your video was very helpful and informative. I am gathering information for a transition to cloth diapers and your review has a lot of information on what makes a good diaper. There are many videos that show multiple options for covers and folds that I really just wanted someone to say, at the end of the day, their preferences(such as no fleece inside), provide options in order of preference (such as cloth to compostable liners to disposable), and other useful information like flushing solids into the toilet. There are a lot of wonderful videos out there, and this is one of them. I am writing this message in this post, though, because I also noticed you put the diaper inside the flap, and these particular hybrids always show on their packaging that they go over every piece of fleece, almost like a period pad goes over an underwear. There is a high chance that the fleece was soaked due to the diaper being placed inside the pocket. Even at the 13 minute mark you still placed the diaper inside the pocket. The pocket seems to have absorbed the spilled urine from the diaper. Diapers always have a certain liquid capacity and when it is passed, the liquid floats on top or spills out. (It can even go through the outer water-resistant shell) They also sell overnight liners which are the only pampers liners that could actually be absorbant enough for the whole night for your baby. You have used many diaper products and likely don't want to hear what anyone online has to say, but there might be people online who do watch you and listen to you and might have gotten some of these as a babyshower gift or a raffle gift and might misuse them and have a horrible experience while using them.(maybe even give their child a rash) just because they used daytime diapers overnight on a baby that wets more than the absorbancy capacity of the diaper. Or just because they put the fleece directly on the baby's drenched liner. In real life, I would usually say this discretely in person, but all I have is the reply button under someone else's similar comment. That's about as discret as I can make it. It would be very nice if you would make an update to this video maybe trying the diaper again but I know that won't happen just to line pampers' pocket, so it's not really a good fix... removing the video might take away some income from you(idk) and removes lots of useful information from youtube. If it is possible, the best solution might be to add a short message at the end saying that the liners go on the outside but the points still stand, and the liners are still expensive and ineffective at any of the cloth community goals. They definitely seem like the worst option between cloth and disposable, and I won't even consider them as a transition to cloth or at all. (Thanks to your explanations on the hybrid's failures) As a newbie coming from disposables, and with no one around me even knowing how to use a cloth diaper, I appreciate the volumes of information that were presented in this short video. Your narrarration, your choice of words, and the passion are why I will now subscribe and watch all your other diapering videos. Thank you for your channel.

This system truly seems like the worst of both worlds. Top reasons to stop using disposables is cost and that its bad for the environment. Top reasons people don't switch to cloth or stop using cloth is the inconvenience of the laundry and the learning curve. This system is all of those things: expensive, bad for the environment, there's a learning curve, and you still have to do the extra laundry.

They made so many extra steps that aren't necessary like if you want to join the cloth diaper companies just make cloth diapers like gezz its not that complicated dang like you can't combined cloth and disposable diapers they are insane for even trying to if I remember they bought Charlie banana earlier this year or last year 🤔 like just do cloth if you buy this cloth diapers is so much easier just buy a few cover flour sack towels a few hemp inserts and hemp prefolds for nighttime

What do you recommend for a overnight heavy wetter with chunk thighs. She doesn't really enjoy all the bulk. I'm looking for the thinnest option (as much as possible) that will last through the night. With a diaper that is smaller in the crotch área.

I have. I used a couple when Cruz was in the PICU last year (for a review). They looked entirely different when wet, they didn't look like a disposable, they actually looked like they would eventually break down. They also weren't nearly as freakishly absorbent as the Pampers Disposable Inserts (meaning less chemicals and SAP gel)- I feel WAYYYY better about the Grovia Biodegradable Inserts than these pampers ones and would use them in a pinch, but I would NEVER use another one of these Pampers disposable Inserts again. :-( But I wouldn't be afraid! The Grovia Inserts are great for little day trips, traveling, camping, daycares, etc. :-)
