IMO Miss Ellie was that mean guard dog inside and outside the property of Southfork, you didn't mess with her or her family, or she would attack, When she did attack, she was good at it, and you'd wish you never bothered her or them.. RIP Miss Ellie/Barbara.

With all due respect to Donna Reed, it just wasn't the same when she took over. Only BBG fit in that role.

Someone should’ve told Donna Reed to play Miss Ellie as a historical character. She should’ve had a Barbara Bel Geddes wig and dressed like BBG dressed in the role. At least, then, the echo of BBG would’ve still been there.
