This is another reason to love Hermes, being a helper of Pan and raised him. Pam deserves the love he got in the end since he demonstrated that looks can truly be deceiving. Just because you look monstrous doesn’t mean you truly are one

@@efaristi9737 I mean. Compared to most of the Olimpians Hermes was more pleasant. He was in fact One of the most worshipped and beloved gods of the greeks, ever since pre classical times. He was considered a friend of humanity, One of his titles even reflect that. He was annoying with the gods but seemed to prefer human companionship. In some tales he randomly appears to travelers to do some pranks, but nothing sadistic like Aphrodite or other gods. He was the god of the sheperds, creator of language and many arts. He accompanied the deceased to the realm of the dead and protected them during long travels. The greeks always portrayed him as a little sassy and with a quick whit, hut never inherently cruel or malicious like other gods. So yeah, he was probably the best god you could encounter. He was basically the opposite of Apollo... God I despise Apollo...

in the movie his trainer isn't pan, he's acually Philoctetes, in greek mithology Philoctetes was a great friend of Hercules, I have no idea why in the movie they made him a satyr because he was actually a human (he was a great archer too) but the scene where he chases the nymph is still pretty great.

@RaymondSaint It's not the usual sacrifice, it's normally animals. Humans sacrifices were made when the times were really bad and they didn't have any other options than trying to appeal to their gods with the most valuable sacrifices: Peoples. But even there, it's generally prisonners or slaves, rarely the faithful themselves. Anyways, i saw nowhere in my sources that Pan particurlarly demanded humans sacrifices.

The pan flute I got for Christmas first became an idea for an instrument I can play. When I thought of my favorite Disney character Peter Pan he too has a pan flute it seemed so easy to play it. And when I got it I played my own music 🎶 and it worked out fabulous, so Pan and I have something in common we both can play the pan flute.

Interesting side note: Have you ever seen a depiction of Satan with horns and hooves? Remember, Lucifer was the most beautiful angel, so this is a strange way to depict him. But, Pan, as a Greek and subsequently Roman figure of myth, represents sexuality, primal nature, and pandemonium; all things that Christian belief is rather against. So, if you're a new religion trying to get followers, the best way to start is to demonize the figures of the current religion. "Us VS Them." And thus, Satan frequently appears as an image of Pan. Similarly, a baphomet was not original a God, but any idol worshipped by pagan cultures. Pagan, as of that point, was any belief structure other than Christian in the yet-unconverted territory of Northern Europe following the rise of the Holy Roman Empire. The word was used to remove any context of the beliefs before the conversion, so that future generations would have nothing to go back to on record. This is also largely why we know little of the history of Europe before the Holy Roman Empire. The name "baphomet" is notable for a time when a group of crusaders, instead of destroying a baphomet they came across and converting its followers, instead began worshipping it themselves and were excommunicated. So, the word came to represent a being onto itself as the natural-world opposition of Christianity. So how did people choose to depict this new Baphomet? As everything Christiandom was against, which coincidentally looks a lot like Pan.
