Very beautifully you have explained the link of pan masala with Tuberculosis, no wonder India is the Tuberculosis capital of the world. I am a research scholar currently working on Tuberculosis. Thanks for bringing up this topic. TB is an infectious disease that was the leading cause of death globally before covid. Unfortunately even after so many years, and also due to emerging drug resistance cases, the treatment for TB is lengthy. Basic treatment is for 6 months and resistance cases require treatment for 12 to 24 months also. 1.6 million deaths have occurred in 2021. People have been cautious for covid so far, but have forgotten about the deadly existence of TB. Thanks for raising awareness through your videos. These would be of great help. Especially in country like India, which is the leading contributer in the global TB cases.

being a dentist, i appreciate that finally someone talked about TB in a straight forward manner, many people are literally unaware, and others take life so lightly that they dont even care to inform us at very first place, they are like we just need teeth cleaning so batana zaruri nahi hai. And then there comes these idiots, ' hum toh sirf supari khate hai, woh saab nahi, so humko kuch nahi hoga' Scientifically apart from tobacco- Betel nuts, areca nuts, limestone - all are carcinogenic. definately cancers (oesophagial cancer, salaivary gland tumors,etc) & precancerious lesions like OSMF, Leukoplakia, etc. are not transmitted to other persons but they tend to reduce your body immunity(its effects are like bamboo seed, un noticed in initial days to 1 year) and TB other bacteria/viruses are just eyeing on you at that moment, and now you beacme the host.

I'm from the United States, and i thought it was really interesting how heavily tobacco is marketed in India, because my country banned most ways of advertising tobacco about 50 years ago. It can't be advertised on TV, radio or billboards. While I'm a smokeless tobacco user myself, i agree with you that advertising should stop, because children shouldn't romanticize tobacco. And about the horrid spitting problem, a method could be to carry an empty water bottle with you. Thats what we do in the USA, we use an empty water bottle or something like to spit in, and either pour it down the drain later and reuse or just throw it away and get a new one. If more people started to spit in bottles instead of the ground, that coild definitely help stop the spread of disease, and make india a bit cleaner!

I am so happy that you have raised this issue to such level. Being an EHS professional in infrastructure sector who deals with health and hygiene also at various projects throughout India, I am making my efforts to educate and audit employees to stop such consumption from last one decade. Kudos to you Abhi and Niyu. Also, I have observed that majority of we Indians are ignorant and short tempered, from less to more. The minute one makes efforts in general public to stop such consumption, he gets ignorance or bashing or foul reply or the famous line, jao apna kaam kro na sahab. Whereas when one has authority such as at workplace or govt. implementation agencies, then such consumptions are better controlled. Nevertheless each step counts in right direction coz farak padta hai.

In my neighborhood only there is one person who eats it I told him about how dangerous is this for his health He said that he knows about the consequences but he addicted to it , he is not able to digest his food without eating it That's seems wierd but all the people consuming it cannot leave it , and they even don't want to leave this

People know the dangers of it but are so addictive that they just can't leave it and that's how this 41000 crores industry thrives. Today morning I heard the new radio ad campaign of SRK, Ajay Devgan, Akshay Kumar of Vimal Elaichi with dialogue Bolo Zuban Kesri. I mean we all know it's a surrogate advertisement, elaichi kha k kiski zuban kesri hoti hai. As Abhi said in the video, distancing yourself from services of such people will hopefully make them realise to leave this habit.

2 years ago i went to Odisha. I loved it the hold temples looked amazing and the beaches were also clean. The only problem? there is freaking gutka everywhere in the road. Most of the people i saw there , including temple priests had paan in their mouth. I think Odisha is a great state but this is smthing they need to fix!

My uncle runs a store, I sometimes help out. When separating the individual Vimal packets, I always find 2 to 5 defective pieces. Defects in manufacturing, packaging and sometimes just sealed empty packets. Shows to me how much such an industry really cares about it's "customers". And Vimal isn't the only culprit, there's like 10 other names I can take which most people won't recognise.

You guys are the real changemakers in society. I started smoking and drinking occasionally when I was in my engineering as usual it happens when peers drinking and partying. Even after getting first job I used to smoke , drink thinking it was cool. But soon it became an addiction. Including panmasala. I tried hard but couldn't resist and unfortunately I got heart problems from constant smoking and stomach infections and suffered a lot due to this bad addiction. Now at 28, I can say that I have quit all types of consumption , smoking including month freshners like panmasala etc and I will never do it again.

I love your videos, I'm a soldier & serving since 6yrs, before joining the Army almost every individual have craze to join the army but after joining the picture is totally different. A soldier is not depressed by the training or enemy but by the atrocities we face within the system. Please it's my humble request to raise a voice on behalf of normal jawans. It feels like we are living in British era where officers are treated as Britishers on the other hand normal jawaans are treated as indians (untouchables/slaves). This is a serious issue, There is lot of discrimination, misuse of ranks, atrocity and corruption here but due to less media influence everything is hidden. I'm not against the elite army but against the atrocities we face. A soldier is not depressed by the fear of death or enemy but by the atrocities of system & some cruel officers. I can relate to this. My wife was diagnosed with TB few years back and she had to undergo a treatment of 9 + months. Even sad part was my 4 years old son also had to undergo same treatment of a TB petient for 6 months just because he was in contact with her! I never ever had any gutka in my entire life still I was direct victim of TB.

Being an Auditor of a local tobacco company, I am stunned by seeing the growth of that company. At the end of FY 2019-20, it was generating revenue of approx 1000 crores, but in FY 21-22, its turnover has crossed the 1500 crores mark and it is supposed to touch 2000 cr. in current FY due to expansion in other cities and advertisements. The growth is magnificent but worrisome at the same time.
