I was there this year, saw and participated in the celebrations. Warmest congratulations to the Pan on D Avenue committee for its expert handling of the night's programme....special mention to the hardworking Carl "Beaver" Henderson, St.Clair, the female councillor for the area, and all who worked tirelessly to see this event become the success that it did. Many of the country's top bands were there, and it was a case of 'all hell break loose' on that night. Kudos to Supernovas, a band of Samaroo members and friends which gave an excellent account of itself with its varied repertoire of Sparrow's "Statue" and "60 million Frenchmen" among other great pieces as a token of appreciation to the great Dr. Jit Samaroo, steelband arranger par excellence.

The mastermind behind Pan on d' Avenue is Former Councillor Cleveland Garcia. The female Councillor was not involved nor did she attend our event, she was out of the country, The planning, execution and maths in getting this event off the ground was solely the job of Mr. Garcia. I am the Corporate Secretary of the Woodbrook/St. James Community Association, Beaver is a Director and together we followed instructions from Mr. Garcia, We were quite satisfied with the outcome of the event since it was incident free and as you can see people were having a great time. Thank you all for making our event a success and look forward to your continued support.

Allima Garcia Oh yes, the 'female councillor' I was referring to is actually you, Cleveland's wife. You chatted with me on the very night. I am aware that the project was a Cleveland Garcia one, from inception. Once again, I wish to congratulate the organizers who worked tirelessly to see the event come to fruition, and successfully and crime-free as i expected it would be. In chatting with you I saw how committed you were to the successful outcome. I laud you for that. I honestly thought that you were the area's councillor because I heard others mentioning you in that light. I have always only known you to be Mr. Garcia's wife. Bless you both for this project which has, in three years, become a warm, lovable Pan event which has come to inform the psyche of panlovers, and also which has become part of our national landscape. Every year, many of my friends look forward to the August staging of this event. Take care of yourself and, together with Cleveland, keep up the good work.
